What to do for next season....

Was going to make this a POLL... but didn't think I could cover all the options!

How would you fill the 2 opens rides for next season? Getting AW back for 2 more years helps out on the SG area....WE and AT @ the 5 with MK and JP filling in either the 4of 5 spots!

I would give one to a BIG...either a 4 or 5 and the other to a SG, one who can really light it up outside.....if thats not available another PG to help out EM!

I would like a really big guy that is meant to be a 5, not a 4, and a SG / SF with length and obviously the ability to actually shoot the J consistently.

I would like a big athletic guard... Thinking Chris Roberts in freshman form. Other than that, the last scholarship, to me, is kind of gravy. If we had another big athletic guard, 6'3+, then I would take either a pure 5 or a "high basketball IQ" guard.

Hands down.. there has to be a shooter.. one or two.
If you can't get a second then another big. You can never have enough of either.

So it's clear, when I envision a Chris Roberts-like guard, I'm talking about a guy who can shoot... I think CR can shoot, but hasn't looked confident for a few games. So like BB, and KillerB, I want a shooter. I just want one who isn't 6 ft tall.

Ideally, a shooter in the form of a big guard. That way they can get some minutes but not be totally depended on right away. Then an athletic 3.

I agree with BradleyBrave..... a shooter first, then either another shooter or a juco big. My only real concern about next year is a body down low. Egolf showed some good play early on this year but he has very little experience and is not terribly strong. We need a power man down low.

We need a shooter. AW will help with the outside shooting the next 2 years, and hopefully DN will develop a nice shot, but I would love to have a 6'4" freshman pure shooter. For the second scholarship, I would use it on a JuCo big man, preferably around 6'8" 250... someone who can bang around on the block.

So do I! A shooter who will have the ability to create their own shot and a real big that can rebound and shut down the play in the paint on D.

We need a Dodie Dunson as a freshman. It is quite a luxury to have him as the back up point gaurd but still be big enough to use as a shooting gaurd. Dodie will be gone after next year and he will be missed if EM ever goes down. Make sure the kid can really fill it up. Maybe even redshirt the kid.
Second need is a 3 like Wilkens or even better a true 5. Lets keep it limited to freshmen unless a real stud comes along. This team is going to be real good next year and the year after, we don't need juco's.

I am the biggest advocate of 4 year guys as there is, but there are times when a immediate-impact JUCO is a good thing, and sometimes almost a necessity. A guy like a Zach Andrews, a Dominque Keller, etc would be what I am talking about. Obviously we want Egolf and Thompson to be our anchors inside next year, but one is coming off of injury and the other is still pretty inexperienced. It would be wrong to expect Prosser to be an immediate-impact guy (even though I think he can be), as he is only a freshman. It would a smart move to get some insurance with an immediate-impact JUCO big with one of our scholarships. Obviously the other has to be a shooter. I'm sure the staff knows this.

I think everyone would prefer equally matched 4 year players over 2 year JUCOs. But just remember we have a lot of young players that will be coming into their own skin next year. Bringing in an already developed player or two to graduate with Maniscalco and Warren would be great. Also, in their senior year, they will be replacing Dodie and Roberts.

I think we would be doing okay if we bring in some developed, talented (clearly) JUCOs. A 6'3 to 6'6 SG, and a 6'9+ Center and we'd be looking solid.

Of course I would like them to be just as talented and freshman instead... but we can't get TOO picky! I'll take the JUCO if the shoe fits!

If we use both, would there be one left for Wilkins the following year assuming all is ok and he comes???

Something in-between

Something in-between

IMO BU needs something in between a smallish guard and a "big". Imagine a 6'6" small forward who can slash AND shoot from the perimeter. T. Brown is half of that equation.
