WhyTauai?

Long-Hair's Lunatics said:
ok, tauai can make a wide open dunk, but what he cant do is protect the ball. All the turnovers are just killing us, he comits lots of turnovers, and he also leads to other players turning the ball over. He needs to improve his ballhandeling, and make wide open shots before I will give will give him any credit. Let's hope his leadership makes up for lack of skill.

And YOU need to improve your spelling....should we not consider you a good poster because of YOUR weaknesses?

you guys dont think that warren, jassey, adams or LAVIN could score 7 points or w/e twy scored in all those minutes?

C'mon - it's not JJ's 7 pnts that matter, it's the fact that he is generally guarding the opponents best player and usually shuts them down. That's what everyone is trying to point out, that it's more than just scoring that he brings to the table, it's leadership & tenacity. Honestly, I would rather have JJ guarding Shaw or any other opponent than any of the guys you mentioned other than Adams.

You got it Romar, though I wouldn't want Adams in that same role as JJ. Adams can't play that kind of defense I don't think.

Are you kidding me?? Tauai was guarding shaw the whole game and he was wide open all night. Shaw had about 6 or 7 wide open threes that game. so i dont no what ur talkin about shutting down the best player.

ummmmmm, we were playing ZONE when Shaw had his looks. So the TEAM was responsible for Shaw. So I guess thats TWO of you that "don't no what ur talkin about"...yee haw.

On the FEW occasions we were in man to man Shaw got nothing. JJ had him covered like stink on a monkey.

Thanks Dogs & yes Shaw hit a couple of open 3's but those came while an undersized Adams was on the post in the zone on that side of the court & got hung up when the ball was swung to the top of the key and a SIU post player set a back pick. See, some of us were actually watching the game. As Dogs stated, when BU was in man, JJ was all over Shaw. I'm going to answer this query of Why Tauai? the same way I did the last time, because JL puts him in the line-up and I trust his judgement more than any fan out there and because his teammates decided to vote him Capt.

It's apparent Taters was not at the game if he thought JJ was covering Shaw on those 2 3's. JJ was on the opposite side of the court in the 2-3 zone. Interestingly, SIU did not make a single shot from that right side that I can recall.
Taters, I don't know what your agenda is, but we get your point, you don't like JJ. Don't let the facts get in your way.
But get used to him, he will start every game for the rest of the season. But you can look forward to next year.

Taters, get another agenda your losing this one badly. Your one battle is being lost. JJ is here to stay thank God.How does it feel to be Gen Custer.

JJ is not the best player on the court, but he is one of the harderst working players out there. Being captain is not solely about scoring the most points or getting the most rebounds, it is about leadership. JJ proves that he deserves that role every day in practice and at games.

JJ does a fine job and he will be missed next year book it.

That's a great point. There's all this argument about the value of JJ within the team but come this time next year, who is gonna be "JJ," or should I say fill his role? Hopefully we can get this thread back next season when the same people are complaining that we don't have a guy on the team who does the little things to help the team win, because I guarantee that will come up.

None of you can say anything bad about DAs defence or the way he play the game. I think on the court (and i mean on the court, not knocking J.J.s leadership, so please dont change the subject again!) Danny is a better shooter than J.J. and give 110% every game.

Me thinks at least Adams won't be back because he is graduating. The other is a walk on and a freshman, so why would JL want to give any of them any minutes other then Adams?
