AAron Ellis, a 3-star recruit from Myrtle Beach, S.C committed to Wichita State yesterday. He is 6'8", but just 185 pounds.
He had originally commited to University of South Carolina, but was denied admission due to academic deficiencies.
Apparently Wichita State does not have as high academic standards as South Carolina.

I think it is a disgrace to admit a kid that was denied admission to S. Carolina as it pretty much says that academics is not as important at Wichita State .

How does ACT vs SAT still play out in College?
I thought that the SAT was more common criteria on the coasts and ACT was more commonly used in the midwest. It may be possible to get an OK ACT score vs SAT..

I may be wrong, but I have always thought that the NCAA allowed kids to submit either the ACT or the SAT scores and they had criteria for both to determine if a kid qualified.

I don't know enough about how they differ to guess whether one is easier than the other. Does anyone know?

Since this kid is elgible at WSU, then this was a college decision and not the NCAA?

Seems BU has had its fair share of recruits that would qualify for BU but not NCAA play.
