Will Egolf arrested for drug charge...

So after all of the uncontrollable disappointment of his injuries, he decides to CHOOSE to disappoint everyone that stood behind him. It might sound harsh, but because it looks like the best we were going to do this year was to "stay out of Thursday", it might be an opportunity for Geno to set the tone for the rest of his tenure, and tell WE to pack his bags. That would send a strong signal to the rest/future recruits that if you think you are going to come here and screw up, especially after so much has been invested in you, you better think again, regardless of how much you might bring to the team.

Lets wait. Egolf wasn't caught with weed nor cocaine. As it would of stated that on the commitment report. Ok so if it was prescription drugs or something like that do we still feel the same?

Someone else mentioned that as a comment on the PJS story comment thread. Would the police really arrest someone and not allow bail for prescription meds? I would love to be wrong about my earlier comments!

While I would smack him for being stupid (having someone else's prescription on your person), I would give minimal punishment. How many of us have used our spouse's left over pain medication for the back muscle we pulled the day before?

I agree. This is a perfect opportunity for Geno.
 
Really a disappointment and an embarrassment. Geno needs to step up and enforce discipline.
I don't think this kind of issue should be treated the same as underaged drinking. If the charges are true, Will sould be suspended the rest of the year. I have heard Geno is soft on discipline, and his record at Kent State suggests he is. But here is his chance to show he's not.
 
Hearing this news just makes me so sad. :badgrin: Will has been a model citizen during his tenure at Bradley and should be disciplined according to the athletic code of the university. I don't know the facts but, if he simply had weed in his possession, I believe he should be subject to the 10% minimum rule just as any other athlete would be. I believe this is his first infraction while at BU and, as such, I don't believe Geno should impose a "death penalty" on him by ending his BU career.

You're right that this is a chance for Geno to make a statement and I would be fine if he chooses to do that. However, other BU players under other BU coaches have done the same and have not been kicked off the team; I don't believe Will should be either. Now, if other facts surface that prove this to be more serious than simple "possession" of a "minor" drug (if there is such a thing) then I would have a different opinion.
