Will Egolf arrested for drug charge...

more than a few games at stake

more than a few games at stake

you know there may be more than a few basketball games on the line, hopefully WE has some help in his corner and someone really looking after what will help his future. he may have become addicted to pain killers as a result of his injuries. this happens often, do the research. I would rather see him not have a problem, fans should support the team and players, he made a mistake, now learn from it and become a better person. those of you that have never made a mistake, cast the first stone.
Hope to see things work out for ya Will, prayers your way.

I still think there is a chance Will might be able to get out today. It would take a special action by a judge, but even though this is a holiday, from what I am told, there is always a judge available for emergency decisions, and sometimes a lawyer can get that to happen.

I have thought the same DC. Never underestimate the power of Bradley Basketball in Peoria. I'm sure there have been more than a few high placed calls by influential people associated with Bradley Basketball.

If his scholarship is revoked for violation of the COD would he be responsible for repaying his tuition? I have tens of thousands in student for BU and stayed away from drugs knowing the impact it could have on my career aspirations.

Bradley has one of the strictest drug and alcohol policies around and a drug violation does not call for dismissal from school - see above

There was a big difference- in the Ruffin case, the media got a hold of the actual police report immediately and by this time the following morning were reporting such things as "ligature marks" and "kicking" as fact when they were later found to be totally erroneous.

This exact same topic was being discussed on another Bradley message board and the following response came directly from Kirk Wessler --

The claim that the JS published a copy of the police report on the Ruffin incident "within a few hours" is false. First news reports were based on an arrest report that provided limited information. We published a story based on information in that report, but we did not publish that report. We had to file an FOIA request for the full police report and weren't provided it until more than 60 hours after the incident took place. We did post that report on our website.

In this case, as in that one, we will publish information as we're able to obtain it
.

I'm not trying to start a controversy or trouble here, just thought it fair to post the "others side's" opinion.

B4L- I never said it was the PJS that published the details of the police report. I am not sure anyone here did, did they? It was published by members of the Peoria media, nonetheless.
So posting KW's defense is not necessary, and takes this discussion off topic in a direction I would prefer not to see it go.

This seems to be so far out of character for Will, can only hope it is not as bad as it sounds ,and yes we all make mistakes so lets not crucify him over what appears to be very bad judgement on his part.

Gotcha DC... Not my intent either. Your statement should put an end to any controversy... Thank you! Carry on. :)

Why shouldn't it? He has disappointed all of Brave nation.

Chico I was not referring to you and the majority of posters on this board but a few posters that rarely or for their first time jump on this board only to cast stones.

As part of The Braves Nation I 100% agree. Its time for us to rally around a wounded member who I'm guessing needs our support. I'm not condoning his behavior but will not cast a stone his way. I'm hoping we will forgive him and try to understand what happened. I'm sure he will not get out easy from this regardless what the story is.

Let us wait until we hear the facts of the case. I remember how Duke's lacrosse team was demonized by the media and faculty before the facts came out.

I don't think this is a he said, she said situation. However, I also don't think it's as illicit as some might imagine.

He is taking Vicodin for knee pain. People on here are smashing him like he bought 40 kilos of cocaine. Some people are unreal.

Kirk just said Vicodin. Prescription painkillers can be devastating to get off of hence their high scheduling but when you're coming off a serious injury like Will was I can understand getting used to them if as he was prescribed them and was used to those effects for the pain. I understand its a dangerous but I'm also aware of Will's medical history. That said there's no excuse for buying them from a dealer, on NYE no less. It's just a joke to me that something they prescribe for pain that's KNOWN to be addicting is done so knowing it could lead to a future want and if you do it's as bad as buying meth or heroin.

Sad situation but it would look better he was prescribed pain killers through team doctors instead of buying it off the street.
