Will Egolf!

D.Collins has shown us that he can score but he gives up way too many points to his man on defense and is most generally out of position which in turn causes our other players to committ fouls trying to stop his man. Will took full advantage us his playing time and deserves to start, A.Thompson needs to do the same when given the oppurtunity to play, remember that AT is only a freshman and Will a sophomore so they have a lot of future left ahead , D.Collins would have had a better chance of developing if he had been here as a freshman because it appears like he had very little coaching in Jr. college.

DC is a 22 year old senior and should be playing with a little more urgency being his last year. I just do not see the desire in him to do anymore then what he has done so far so I doubt that more coaching would have changed his attitude which is needed to be sucessful at this level IMO. He seems like a nice guy though....

Your right about him being a nice guy, but there are a lot of nice guys that are not playing and that should not have any factor on whether or not he gets in the game. He was given the opportunity and I just see someone that does not react very well to what is happening on the court.

Collins is 23...actually. But the rest of your points still apply.
He hasn't shown the consistent desire or effort needed to earn an expanded role on this team, so it's time to develop the younger post players that are going have to help us next year and beyond.

The nice guy statement was tongue in cheek comment. I believe you need desire to excel at this level and beyond. That is why you see guys from inner cities and poor rural background exceed because they feel they have something to prove. In an extreme case, MJ excelled not only because of his athletic ability but because of his will to succeed. NO ONE out worked Mike before the season. I read that Larry Bird did not like the way he shot or handled the ball left handed during HS so he tied his right hand up durng the summer and just used his left hand. At this level it takes more then just athletic ability to be good because everyone is pretty athletic. There are few who do not have pure athletic ability but pure heart that excel like Drake's Adam Emmenecker.

Good Stuff SFP;-)

We finally have Will to replace a collins....and now he's out.

Hopefully it's not too bad...hopefully AT can get in since we are up by so much to see what we have out of him.

I hope this doesn't dishearten the team

DC can't handle a pass and misses a dunk.

I really hope WE knee is ok. I can feel the disappointment toward this situation all the way in STL.

illegal screen on collins....

we were hanging around 23 or 20 points ahead now with collins in the lead drops to 13....this is REALLY not good

the issue with AT is more the physical conditioning, and David Collins will come around and fill our needs.

Unless there was an injury/sickness involved with AT the lack of physical conditioning is absolutely INEXUSABLE for a major college athlete!

And, I've said it before, Collins IS NOT the answer! I see very little improvement from his game last year. He is soft and his biggest weakness which has not (and I believe cannot) been corrected is his poor footwork. I am now convinced more than ever that Collins is just another Prusator-like 7-footer.

AT MUST be playing 10-15 minutes per game NOW for the future of the program. I am certain he can provide more quality minutes than Collins.

Well if it means anything, I am Facebook friends with Will Egolf, and it says "what am I gonna do without basketball for 6 months". I hope this is not the case.

That was what we all expected, unfortunately. After watching WE the last few games I am convinced he will be a stud at BU before he's done. I expect he'll use any time off to perfect his outside shot..... and will be a big-time player for us in the future. Stay positive young man! :)
