Question for all of you fellow Bradley Fans...

Answer as truthfully as you can. Be realistic.

I'm not saying breaking the rules is ok, but if we had a program that did what would you be ok with?

I bet no one deep inside would want Bradley to run a strict straight program and never win the MVC.......come on how PC do we have to be this is an anonymous board.

Be aggresive in recruiting .....but stay clean and compete for the Valley Title....I want a product that I can have fun watching and proud (hard workers on and off the court and staying out of trouble) to say these guys are my team....I could go on...and on...going to the Sweet Sixteen every few years would be WOW..that was a ton of fun!

The "rules" as published by the NCAA are so arcane, inane, and unwieldly, BU is probably already bending, if not breaking, something in the MBB NCAA rule book without even knowing, let alone trying!

Therefore, BU needs to do a better job of bending the rules so they can better compete in the MVC. ;-);-):lol:

Hopefully the new AD and asst coach will help BU do a better job of living on the edge vis a vis adhearing to the spirit, if not the letter, of the ridiculous NCAA rules and regs that others apparently have figured out a way to beat!
:twisted::twisted::lol:

"If you get fired for cheating, you can get hired right back again,??? he said.
???If you get fired for losing, it??™s like you??™ve got leprosy, so young coaches
need to bear that in mind. Cheating and not graduating players will not get you in trouble, but that d-a-m-n losing. ...??? Royce Waltman

WELL:-P

+1

apparently that seems impossible nowadays?

do you think coach K cheats? I mean I dont know one way or another but he won with a team of 4 year guys most of whom wont even play in the NBA or if they do it wont be for long. Does Izzo cheat? Did Brad Stevenson? I dont even think Huggins cheated for his team. I could be wrong but I hope not.

1. Great question for this thread.

2. Yes, it's been proven Coach K has cheated. Read all about the Corey Maggette and Chris Duhon fiascos. It's as shady as it gets. Izzo is a better example. I have yet to hear something about him.

3. I voted for this "Everyone knows BU breaks rules to make the NCAA tourney every year but can't prove it."

My reasoning being we have broken rules and gotten in trouble in the past, and still can't manage to get out of the middle. If we're gonna break the rules, we might as well make it worth it. You can't compare us to BCS schools in that regard because we clearly play by different rules. I compare us to our peers in the MVC - If we're going to do it, we had better start dominating like we did in the 80's, otherwise it's pointless.

everytime i try to say I love this guy because he isn't dirty....it seems like I realize he probably is...

if Izzo is clean....i would say he is the best college coach ever (in my lifetime)

better question IMO does Bruce Weber cheat? look at the last class and the next 3 for illinois......something happened....

W/ IL I believe it is called Jerrance Howard the difference maker man.

Personally I want to win but not at any cost. We run a program where we graduate our athletes and they are, for the most part, successful in life. Is winning the only thing in life or is preparing these young people to be successful in life just as important? I must admit that my mind has changed on this topic over the last 20 years. There was a time when winning was the only thing and at any cost. My point is how many athletes go on to be professionals in any sport? The percentage is very low. When these young people leave BU most have degrees and are able to get a job. At a lot of these other schools the athletes are lucky to be able to say a complete proper sentence let alone be ready to make a difference in the work place.
Give me the kids w/ an education-by the way w/o looking it up tell me who won the national chanpionship 20 years ago, 10 years ago & 5 years ago.
I will take the kids w/ the education anyday

I dont think Coach K cheated to get last years team and I dont think Brad Stevenson did either so the point is a team can win a championship without cheating.

I agree. But it's just a lot easier to compete every year for the championship if a coach does cheat.
