Honestly - seriously - we are on our own. Whatever happens elsewhere in the conference tourney won't help or hurt us. We have made and are sleeping in our own bed.

And by that - Wichita State and Missouri State are on their own.

I would honestly say it would be better for MSU to lose. Going further in the tournament could help our case in getting a bid over MSU.

Yup. MSU wins 67-64. That should just about seal an NCAA tournament bid for the Bears (though Bradley still has a shot at an at-large bid as well). Maybe the Barry Hinson critics on that other board will quit whining once and for all! :D

I was having a discussion about this with a friend of mine (purdue grad) the other day. We were discussing the merits of the B10 bubble teams vs. the Valley bubble teams. He made the point that Indiana and Mich St. both have a "signature win" over Wisconsin. So why isn't Bradley's win over #5 RPI SIU considered a signature win?

You don't have to answer that question. I think we all know the reasons why.

Bradley does have a 'signature' win over SIU. But that win alone won't put BU in the dance.
 
'Cause the MVC doesnt get the respect it deserves! But with last years attention and this years definate outdoing of last year in terms of the MVC as a whole, it will up attention and recruitment even more. Which will result in an even stronger conference which means more attention and well you get the idea. However I think that the fact that the MVC consists of primarily small schools in terms of size compared to other conferences, it will always be an uphill battle.

Students = Viewers = Advertising dollars = Media attention

i can think of several "big" schools with fairly small students
i think duke's private- not sure tho

Maybe not, but it still should be considered a signature win. Most media members (Digger and Packer included) do consider it a signature win. But many casual fans I don't think still grasp just how good SIU and the Valley are. That respect will go up in time.
 
So Wichita isn't going to get an NCAA bid, and of course neither is UNI.

So that means BU now has the 2nd longest streak of consecutive NCAA bids, still running among Valley members,
and they hope to extend that by beating SIU Saturday then winning Sunday.
