Your Mascot...

We don't have a mascot. There was some work done towards getting one during the fall but after all the voting was said and done the admin. decided not to adopt a new mascot.

And it was a good thing they did not adopt another mascot, because I thought all the options that were voted on were terrible.
 
Yes, Bradley voluntarily dropped all imagery suggestive of Native Americans several years ago. That was never an issue with the NCAA. The NCAA was hung up on the name Braves, saying it constituted a "hostile and abusive" environment because of it's connotation of native Americans. But finally after several appeals, they backed off and conceded the term Braves could be used in a context that was not "hostile and abusive".
 
Basically, Bradley had to strip any Indian references away from the Braves. The Chief's club had to be renamed the Brave's Club. No feathers, logo or mascot with an Indian reference. It was all silly in my opinion, but the NCAA finally cleared Bradley.

Yes wasn't it the NCAA Chief operating officer who is also the Chief of police (for his full time job) that cast the deciding vote saying BU had to get rid of all those "chief" references because it was baaaaaaad....very baaaaaaaad and offensive, hostile and abusive.

When it was pointed out that he was also a Chief and could be considered hostile and abusive he allegedly replied...thats ridiculous. :lol:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, my senior year at BU. That was the most fun year in all my years as a Braves fan dating back to the early 70's!
