Zach Andrew's signed to Lakers

Good luck Zach! I hope to see Zach's hard work pay off. I can see him playing an important role for the Lakers with his athleticism, physicality, and selflessness. :)

how ironic that the Lakers will begin their season on Christmas Day playing the Bulls on NATIONAL TV -- then the following day playing IN Sacramento!!

Congratulations to Zach, but it's going to be a tough task to see any time with the team. The Lakers currently have 21 players on their roster, so 8 players will need to be trimmed. Not to mention that reports are saying Josh McRoberts is close to signing with the Lakers as well. I hope for the best!

ZA is one of the few players I would put up against Dwight Howard in the post if the Lakers aren't able to sign DH....

Zach had a great initial showing last night in the Lakers' public intrasquad game -
lots of good things said about him and his awesome dunks. - Link

Zach was signed to bolster the Lakers' frontcourt, mainly because of an injury to LA Laker Derrick Caracter -
but now that Caracter has undergone surgery and is expected out at least 6 weeks for the torn lateral meniscus cartilage ..
so Zach may have a pretty good opportunity to stick with the Lakers....

Zach should see some action, maybe against Blake Griffin?

Hope Zach sees action, but again, he's got to compete for minutes at forward/center with Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Ron Artest, Matt Barnes, Devin Ebanks, Luke Walton, Joe Smith, Theo Ratliff, Josh McRoberts, Chris Daniels, Troy Murphy, and Malcolm Thomas.

Last night's exhibition game - Lakers vs. Clippers - lots of highlights were shown on ESPN...

BUT -- Zach did not get into the game - mostly because the Lakers struggled the whole game and were getting embarrassed by a clearly better Clippers team and they didn't want to pull their starters!

BUT -- this game had a whole lot of interesting features...

-Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) had an incredibly BAD game going 0-8, 3 pts & 2 rebs

-Kobe had a bad game - seven turnovers, and he even fell and appeared to injure his left wrist but didn't come out.

-The Clippers played this game more like an exhibition - with nobody logging anywhere near 29-30 minutes and pulled away easily in the 2nd half despite playing tons more minutes with subs..

-Then, one play surprised me -- on a wide open break, Blake Griffin took the pass of the board and slammed one home must to the delight of the crowd....
this is exactly what the fans paid for and wanted to see - and he really didn't showboat, yet one of the refs T-ed him up for "hanging on the rim" -- gimme a break!!! Everyone hangs on the rim in the NBA -- this was really bogus and must have been some bug up the *** that the ref had against Griffin!

Tough break again for Zach as he did not get to play in last night's Lakers preseason game...

Again - the Lakers struggled and LOST to the Clippers (108-103), and Kobe's sitting out because of that wrist injury.

BTW -- Blake Griffin had 30 pts, 6 rebs, 7 asst, and 3 steals
Chris Paul had 10 assists

This hints that Zach may not be on the bubble regarding their permanent roster once the season gets started....
