What I am most amazed by is how these are grown up human beings, all of very high intelligence and education---yet they act like 3rd graders with these silly personal squabbles, personal offensives, etc.
No one comes out looking good in the end. Regardless of how people feel let's let bygones be bygones. Burning bridges has never helped anyone.

KK is a great guy, and well-liked by many. but you can't assume that just because you or your buddy liked him it means he had the best vision of how to run an athletic department, or never made errors in judgment.
Likewise, is it that big of a surprise that a new boss would want his or her own people in the top positions. this was not the first VP-level departure from the university, yet this is the one that is stirring up controversy. Where were the naysayers with the previous two departures?
I'm not saying that the way this was handled was the best way possible, but don't you all think that if somebody wanted KK gone they would have just axed him a while ago, and not let him find a replacement job, first?
The bottom line is that you all can speculate but its just hearsay and conjecture. I think KK is a fantastic guy, and I wish him the best. But this vitriol towards the University because of an (internal) human resource decision seems a bit unwarranted.

This is a controversy here because this is a Bradley Sports Board. Maybe if everyone knew who the other 2 you talk about were, there might be some naysayers.

The other departures were not sports related. Why should anyone here care or comment here about them?
Maybe you can find the naysayers posting about them on the BU Development board (if there is one).
As someone who has posted on this thread a couple of times, I have the following suggestion. Can we lock this thread. I say this as people on both sides of this issue have made their feelings well known and I don't think that there is much more to add.

VP of advancement and Provost, were the other two. Obviously this is a sports board. I just find it amusing that nobody cares about the president shaking things up until it's their friend. then all of a sudden there's big problems brewing.
Again, it is because this is sports related. The others were not. You won't see anyone here care if the Mayor of Peoria hires or fires someone on his staff. And likewise, nobody here cares what the university president does unless it affects the athletic department in a significant way, which this does. I cannot undersdtand why anyone would be surprised by that.
I notice there are active discussions on several other fan boards for other MVC schools related to changes in their ADs. So it is not surprising or unique to see it here by Bradley fans.

A very valid point. I liked KK a lot, and was sad to see him go, regardless of the circumstances. I just feel that people are looking for somebody to blame and making accusations that arent entirely founded. I don't recall who said it, but somebody posted there's two sides to every story. Which is very true.

I think this is necessary DRU and I will tell you why. There are a lot of Bradley grads here (myself included) and a lot of Bradley fans on this forum. We have seen Bradley rise from the ashes of the Albeck era with a solid platform put in place on campus and in the Athletic department. All this while graduating students and athletes with a degree that is well respected around the country. I have come to care very passionately about Bradley. What I am afraid we are seeing is the start of destruction of this foundation that is currently in place. and it is a good foundation... This is not Glasser's university, it is our University. Glasser is supposed to be the caretaker in charge. I am considered a rebel somtimes, but if I see something that I know is wrong, I QUESTION AUTHORITY to make sure things are right. I am doing so now! With the links mentioned above, we know JG's track record which makes me want to question authority even more!
Fair response Ben....I agree with much of what you said and understand. I TOO am VERY passionate about BU and want whats best for it. Maybe I just understand that there will be MANY folks asking the appropriate questions that I don't need to get involved as much.

Peter Johnsen was the Provost. I do not know the reasons surrounding his departure, but I do know that he was an OK guy, but I don't think he belonged in academia.

Lee I'm sure you have seen this in all types of business regardless of education or intelligence. It is called EGO and like most things bad it does not discriminate, sort of like the Swine Flu.
Now on to some other posters who are coming out of the wood work just to throw around some cow pies, when they can, I say go back to the hole you came from. This is a sensitive subject for those that are in the direct line of fire and your insensitive nature to take jabs at BU when there is a slight division just shows you that you really do not understand that great institutions usually go through some jousting and hard debates in order to find the right mix which will push it to the next level. This is in the context of the history of the University is a blimp on the radar.
