News about recruits Remy Abell and Nate Wells

Remy Abell and Louisville Eastern HS won again tonight to go to 18-1.
Eastern beat Atherton 92-43.

From the Louisville Courier-Journal:

Eastern 92, Atherton 43: The Eagles (18-1), No.1 in The Courier-Journal's Litkenhous Ratings, cruised past the visiting Rebels (4-13) behind 19 points from Remy Abell and 17 from Lyonell Gaines. Shephon Rogers paced Atherton with 12 points.

Greg Stewart's list still has one glaring omission and I am going to write to him about it...

I can't believe he did not recall this kid...

PEORIA — Billy Molinari will play college basketball for his father, Western
Illinois coach Jim Molinari!!

In a ceremony Monday morning at Peoria Christian School, Billy Molinari signed
his letter of intent.

Molinari was a consensus all-state selection following a senior season that
saw him average 19.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He also became
PCS's all-time leading scorer with 1,601 career points.

Jim Molinari, who was Bradley's head coach from 1991-2002, is entering his
second year at WIU."

And from the WIU web site...

** it has also been brought to my attention that Ryan Knuppel from Manito Midwest Central also ended his career with over 1800 points and
Manual's Curtis Stuckey was over 1600.

Remy Abell's team, Louisville Eastern, was scheduled to play a game tonight at Waggener HS (located in Louisville), but it was cancelled because of bad weather.

Nate Wells and his Davenport West team play a conference game at Pleasant Valley HS tonight at 7:30 pm.

Donivine Stewart and the Limestone Rockets play tomorrow at Metamora.

Donivine Stewart had a game-high 21 points last night as Limestone lost at Metamora.
D C yes he had 21 points but his play left alot to be desired. Not one of his better games and Metamoras guards had alot to do with that. There defense on DS was alot like the defense N.D.'s guards played on him.

I did not see the game, but from someone who did, Donivine's poor shooting night also had a lot to do with trying to force shots. He was double-teamed a lot but nobody else could make shots.

He has been nominated for the McDonald's All American game, but hundreds of kids get nominated each year. Nate Wells and Donivine Stewart were also nominated. Remy's chances of getting selected are very small because of the quality of high school players nominated, and the far greater hype surrounding the 4 and 5-star players who are headed to the schools like Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc.

My son-in-law has coached against at least 3 of the players listed in Georgia..Landmark Christian, Pace Academy, and Milton High....they might have played some in tourneys too...I'm not sure...no wonder they have only won 4 or 5 games
