We won’t have a choice soon for basketball just like football. March madness will be big schools. We will get a mid major championship game on a Sunday afternoon before the big boys. Don’t get caught watching the paint dry!!!!
Yes, but Bradley will always be a mid-major, whether it is with the MVC or the A-10. Your scenario with the Big conferences dominating college basketball and March Madness is already here and it will get worse for the mid-majors. Whether Bradley is in the MVC or A-10, it probably won't make any difference.
And, there are many reasons why no new conferences, especially mid-majors, have formed in many years, so that's not going to happen. Does anyone want to see Bradley in the A-10? I'm not sure the A-10 would want BU, nor would it be a good decision for Bradley. The MVC is a viable basketball conference, and IMO, Bradley needs to stay put, and work to make the MVC better.

By the way, has anyone noticed what happened in the Mountain West with basketball this year? The Mountain West has been similar to the MVC in many ways, other than the fact they have legitimate football. They have usually gotten just 1 or 2 NCAAT bids. But this year, they have 6 teams in the top 40 NET, and could get 5 or 6 teams in the NCAA Tournament. Some are saying they "cracked the code" of the NET formula. That is what was said about the Missouri Valley and the RPI in 2006 when they got 4 teams (should have been 5) in the NCAA Tournament. The MVC should be able get more than 1 team in the tournament. The big differences are that the MWC teams are all bigger, better funded state schools (except AFA which is why they can usually be found at the bottom) and that when they added teams, they added high quality teams like San Diego State, Boise State, Nevada, and Utah State.

    Mountain West NET-
    18 San Diego State
    25 New Mexico
    26 Boise State
    29 Colorado State
    35 Utah State
    39 Nevada
    80 UNLV
    170 Wyoming
    216 Fresno State
    240 San Jose State
    272 Air Force

Possible conference realignment... A group of 5 mid-major football conferences (referred to the G5- American Athletic Conference, Sun Belt, Mountain West, Mid-American Conference and Conference USA- are discussing forming their own alignment, separate from the FCS and FBS.
It's not clear how such a realignment for football would affect basketball or other sports - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...yoffs-from-cfp

Administrators from the Group of Five conferences—the American Athletic Conference, Sun Belt, Mountain West, Mid-American Conference and Conference USA—have discussed a potential "G5-only postseason playoff or even wide-scale G5 realignment with the involvement of private equity."
