Final score: St. Bonaventure 69 Bradley 63

Looks like if the Braves struggle shooting the 3 they will not win many games.🥴🥴🥴 Terrible in the paint and rebounding dept and if Timo gets that many minutes you have zero depth!🤔🤔🤔

If the Braves didn't allow so many 2nd chance points in the last 8 min. the outcome would have been different. I HATE that the one area that cost us the Valley title was problematic in Game 1 after a long offseason. JUMP! CRASH! REBOUND!!!
Agreed. Poor rebounding and second chance points cost us the game.

I'm at work, so I didn't get to see the game. What happened that this tweet addresses:

Also, based on the rebounding disparity, I think coach needs to challenge a couple of guys to focus on rebounding to stay on the floor.
with under 30 seconds to go and BU down 2, AJ smith rebounded the ball and threw an outlet pass to a backpeddling Burch near half court ( who was well out passed the defense) and Burch appeared to be tripped or at least fell trying to avoid the St Bonaventure coach who was out on the court. The ball sailed out of bounds as Burch fell down.

Oh, I just found this video. This must be it:

Offensive rebounds:
BU 5
SBU 15

2nd chance points:
BU 0
SBU 11

and Bradley's been a good rebounding team several years in a row, but I fear that will end this year.
Saint Louis outrebounded Bradley & St. Bonaventure outrebounded BU 44-29

Everybody thought the Bonnie coach tripped him but replay showed Burch just got twisted and fell....would of had a game tying layup..

😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Also, there is stuff on the Internet that the tweet about Woj being thrown out was a viral fake?.....anybody confirm if he was really thrown out?

The Bradley turnover with 6 seconds left and BU trailing 63-65 was on a rebound by AJ Smith and a outlet pass up the court intended for Demarion Burch. It sailed over Burch and out of bounds because Burch appeared to stumble just as he passed the foot of St. Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt, who appeared to be standing close to the sideline. Wardle tried to argue interference with the official, but he didn't see it that way.
Couldn't Coach have used his allowable one-time coach's challenge?

There were a number of accounts on X.com reporting the same thing, that he was escorted out of the arena by security. There were also several people in the chat log on the YouTube page that reported it, some in great detail.
But it does appear to be a big hoax- https://ftw.usatoday.com/story/spor...ot-ejected-st-bonaventure-opener/87067897007/

Yeah, Darius was a good rebounder, but the overall length last year made Bradley a good rebounding team.....while Darius and Meta and even Almar were blocking out, it allowed CD and Zek and even burch to clean up alot of rebounds..

Now, AJ is that type of cleanup guy, but IMO hes out of position at the 4, what gives him an advantage at the 3 is wasted when he plays the 4. He's not big enough to be a difference maker at the 4...Not sure we have a 4 man on the team honestly. The 1-3 guys are going to have to be better at keeping their man off the offensive glass if this team is going to rebound better.

The bottom line is that this game hurts because it appeared it was a winnable game if the team had played up to their capabilities (better perimeter shooting and better rebounding).
I'm sure the coaches will analyze the video and make whatever changes are needed. And hopefully, the team plays better in the upcoming games.
IMO the guard play was very good, but the 4 "forwards" who played went 6-21 from the floor, and had only 12 rebounds combined.

Proud of the effort and actually had a chance to tie or win it at the end so we showed a little progress from the St Louis game. However if we don’t rebound better and shoot under 30% from 3 we’ll be fortunate to not be playing on Thursday at Arch Madness. I know this is just one game but Brian just needs to keep on them

I would like to see Richardson get at least 12 or more minutes. His size and length could help us a lot as far as rebounding and scoring. Timo is just ok. as a player but not really consistent as a shooter. AJ did not really contribute enough in the second half for a player of his experience.

I echo last post on the BU platform. Would also have liked to see Richardson and Zobrist in the game. Maybe in the home game coming up we will see them. Definitely need to rebound better to be able to win games. Bad as BU got hammered on the rebounding, they were close to possibly tying the game at the end. Front line players have to realize the importance of the effort needed to rebound better. Coming home and let's protect home court and get a win.

I watched the game until the YouTube feed stopped. BU played similarly to how they played against St. Louis; too much passing and missing bunnies were two areas that stood out in both games. Wardle and staff will work on the weaknesses. Wardle's teams seem to start off slowly in most seasons. It takes them 3-4 games to work things out. If things don't improve after several games, at least by the tournament in FL, look for a long season.

anyone watching the Drake game...
after starting well, they are now down double digits to Northern Arizona, who was picked last in the Big Sky Conference,
but still a lot of time left...

NAU hitting over 50% from 3-pt and showing how important it is to make the open three.

I really like Dietrich but I don’t see him helping on the boards. He is really slight and needs to put on a bunch of weight. Right now he’d get shoved into the fourth row.
