I am assuming this will be a very tough game. I think this UTM team is going to be pretty good this year.

I'm guessing that Meta will play much better with the inspiration of playing against several fellow Eastern European players. I'm predicting 10 and 8 for him.

I hope you are right. We need him to play well. UT-M has a lot of big guards and wings, including a couple 6'7" wings from Meta's home country of Serbia. But their forwards are listed at 6'7", 6'8" and 6'9", so maybe Meta can take advantage of a little height advantage inside.
In reviewing the stats from their first 2 games, it looks like UT-M's big guards (6'5", 6'6", and 6'7") took advantage of opponents' smaller guards. They shoot the ball well from the perimeter. That concerns me a little, since the guard combos that Bradley plays most of the time contain one or sometimes two sub-6-foot guards. But I expect UT-M will have trouble keeping up with Bradley's more mobile guards, Jaquan, Montana, and Demarion Burch (if he is healthy enough to play).

Will see if Jaquon can score like last game. If everyone remembers, Duke put up big numbers for a while until teams figured out how to defend him. Because of his shorter stature, he could not put up numbers like earlier in the year. Hope Jaquon does not endure the same thing. It is why we need Meta to step up his game. Be a force in the post as to take the load of off Jaquon so he does not have to try to put up big numbers to give Bradley a chance to win on a given night.Let's hope Wheeler, Zobrist, Richardson, and Burch can pick up some of the scoring as the season goes on. Go Braves on Wednesday night and get a win.

I’m not saying Jaquon is unguardable. However I think his offensive ceiling is higher than Duke Dean’s. The reason being he’s a better and stronger finisher at the rim than either Duke or Darrell Brown in my opinion… which should mean the perimeter opens up and he doesn’t have to try to elevate 42” in the air or scoot back to the logo every time he pulls. It doesn’t look like the added muscle has harmed his shot, so he’s obviously working hard on that. What I’d like to see him work on is becoming ROCK SOLID from the line. Fouling Jaquon should mean an automatic 2 points.

Agree. Duke just seemed to have a hard time getting around people to attack the bucket..........Jaquon has those wide shoulders and strong body so if he gets a half a step on somebody and gets his shoulders square it's tough to get back to the ball without fouling him....and if the defender is anywhere near the same height as him, it's over. We will see if he can remain to be that effective against taller guards, but I agree he has a more dynamic attack than Duke.

I really like Jaquan-he and Duke are different players. Jaquan gets to the rim better than Duke did. On the other hand although Jaquan’s 3 point shooting has improved I don’t seem him as the shooter that Duke was-Duke was great from 3 and a great free throw shooter. Jaquan is just 2 games into his Sophmore year so he may catch up in that area (he is obviously working on it), but I dont think he is near Duke’s level yet-I’ll love it if he gets there. On the other hand I see Jaquan as a better defender.

I would not put much stock in Meta because he has more trouble against smaller centers. He cannot guard well on the perimeter and has a hard time when he is forced outside and has to get back to defend inside and rebound. We play better with more versatile players. He slows our offense down.

I think this is very important to Jaquons success. When you rely on driving the lane, you have a lower chance of making your basket which means you have to make your free throws. Ideally, you make the basket and one for three points and in the process rack up the fouls for the other team. If you miss the basket and only make one free throw, it’s one point from being a turnover. Even worse if you drive, miss the basket and don’t get the call.

The deal they used to have with the Civic Center included a chance to practice on the Arena floor prior to each home game. I don't know if the current arrangement is the same.

One thing I seen last game with Bully is he might be getting that A J Green shot of jumping into the defender when shooting the 3. That would be a helpful move if he gets it down.
