Final score: UT-Martin 78 Bradley 67

How do you lose a game where you have 17 steals, force 23 turnovers, and go 30 of 37 from the foul line???
Here’s how:
1. Absolutely Abysmal shooting
2. Get out rebounded by a small, skinny team
3. Get zero pts, 1 reb, no assists from Corey Thomas… I can’t even remember him getting a shot
4. Get only 6 points total from guards not named Jaquon

And how buried on the bench must Zobrist be if he can’t get in a game that Burch is out and we desperately needed somebody to hit a 3??

So many frustrating, hard to watch things in tonight’s game.

It seems we just dribble lots of times with no purpose.
Meta should have had double the touches he had tonight… it was the only thing that worked in the offense ..
Need to find a way to get Corey involved
Our guards have got to keep Their counterparts off the offensive glass.. killed us again tonight

What's the old saying? Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all. Sometimes. Maybe I'm still trying to comprehend what I was a witness to, shooting 33% overall, 3-20 from 3, and allowing the road team to shoot 56% overall, 11-24 from 3. Just unacceptable.

.....
3. Get zero pts, 1 reb, no assists from Corey Thomas… I can’t even remember him getting a shot....
Not that it matters much, but there was a scoring error made by the stats crew and Corey Thomas actually did get 2 points he was not initially credited with on the Live Stats feed. Late in the game, on the second of back to back breakaways by Jaquan Johnson, he missed the layup, but Corey was following him and got the rebound and putback. On the Live Stats, the basket was incorrectly credited to Montana Wheeler, giving his 4 points at the time.
Some time after the game, that was corrected. So now the official box score shows Corey with 2 points, and Montana Wheeler with 2 points.

Seems like they got every rebound off their own missed free throws
Meta plays 26 minutes and gets 2 rebounds?

And we have to STOP stepping on the out-of-bounds line on our half court offense!
That’s costing us 2 or 3 possessions every game.

I agree this is a rebuild not a reload. Players and staff. Not having Burch really hurts and it showed. We have a lot of things to fix but what's glaring to me is all the substitutions. In and out and back in. You can't get into a flow that way. This also affects confidence. 2 minutes into the game and multiple substitutions. I watch a lot of basketball and have never seen anything like it.

In Wardle's defense...it would feel a lot less like a rebuild if Mayar Wol was still part of the team. Here are his stats so far this season at BG.

unfortunate and still don't know what happened, but he would have started over Corey as the 3 and probably pushed AJ to the 4 where i would rather see him...instead of defending guards that leave him out of the paint for rebounds. Oh well, next man up as always.
Let's hope the guys can let this one sting like it should and nut up or shut up. Own it.

That last night really stunk and when you can"t hit shots it looks a lot worse. Biggest problem is most of our 3 point shots were not close to making them. Meta might have had a good scoring game but his rebounding for his size is horrible. I agree on the issue of players continually catching passes and being out of bounds,, that should not even be possible . Pay freaking attention to detail. Wheeler looked great shooting the ball in the Wis.GreenBay exb game but after that not so much. Alex needs to shoot a lot better because we were counting on him the most to make the 3.

I hope that I’m wrong, but after watching losses to St Louis and Tennessee Martin, my expectations for this team are at best 4th place in MVC. There isn’t anyone on this team to replace Duke Dean and the players are not sharing the ball often enough. Well, it still is early in the season. Maybe Wardle can figure it out.

I am going to pull a positive out of the negative. Chad Klein mentioned this also. As bad as we played we were still ahead at half time and competitive until the end. Got some things to clean up

One thing I seen last game with Bully is he might be getting that A J Green shot of jumping into the defender when shooting the 3. That would be a helpful move if he gets it down.
I was hoping Johnson would be the player to take over a game. He certainly seemed hesitant in the last minutes . Or maybe everyone just had an off night. Hope it’s out of everyone’s system!!

Considering how young we are, I would be fine with that. I get we all want to win the conference and the tournament and go to postseason but I think it’s more important that Wardle focus on building this very young team. We’ve been fortunate in the success we had over the last 4 years. That success was the result of having a solid group that was able to play together, some for 5 years. It might take a year or two, but I’m sure we will get back to that level.

ur right, I remember that now. The thing is other than that I don't remember Corey even shooting....I mean against a smaller team where the guards are struggling, one would think maybe you get the ball to your senior post player at least once in the offense.

Actually now that I think about it....Montana DID have a putback on a fast break that Jaquon missed... Corey's 2 pts that I remember were on the fast break lob for a layup to him from Jaquon.

At any rate....we need more than 2 pts, 1 reb, and 0 assists from Corey. lol

We're a young team with a lot of new pieces. Give BW time to figure out what lineups work well and who fits where best and he'll have us playing our best ball by tournament time, just like every other year.
Expectations for the first half of this season for me are very low, but I do suspect we'll improve dramatically in the 2nd half.
