I have not heard any word but I would be extremely surprised if he is cleared as a mid-season transfer
I do not speak for IHSA but their own rules do address this situation...
Here are rules that pertain - from IHSA
"If you transfer after classes begin for the
current school term, you will definitely be
ineligible for thirty days from the date you
start attending classes at the new high
school. In addition, you will be ineligible
for that entire school term in any sport in
which you engaged in any team activity,
including but not limited to tryouts, drills,
physical practice sessions, team meetings,
playing in a contest, etc. at the school from
which you transferred. For example, if you
were out for cross country at the school
from which you transfer and transfer after
the IHSA sport season has begun, you
will be ineligible for cross country that
entire school term at the new school."
Thus, barring an unprecedented granting of a waiver from this rule, there's no way
he could be eligible to play basketball until at least fall of 2015
Plus as seen below - there are even qualifying rules on transfers that could even keep him ineligible beyond that...

Both principals - from the schools he transferred from and to - must sign off on the transfer form as does IHSA before he is eligible
Principals??™ Concurrence Regarding Transfer:. Complete this document to document concurrence
with the student??™s transfer by both the principal of the school from which the student transfers
(Sending School) and the principal of the school into which the student transfers (Receiving School).
This is a requirement of By-law 3.041. If you, as the receiving principal, experience any delay in
obtaining the sending school principal??™s approval, contact the sending school and try to prompt their
response. If there is a further delay, notify the IHSA Office immediately and we will intervene on the
student??™s behalf. Note: A student is not eligible to participate in an interscholastic contest until
the Principals??™ Concurrence Regarding Transfer Form is fully executed by both principals and
is on file in the offices of the school to which the student transfers.
