Always a Brave team in FINAL FOUR of The Basketball Tournament

Dan Dakich - I love it...
a brutally honest assessment of the Bradley President ignorantly firing Jim Les and "ruining the program ever since"... LOL!!!!!

Sammy! What a play by Maniscalco! They are playing great even with Sommerville contributing very little so far.

The Braves built a 36-23 lead, then the Golden Eagles went on a 19-3 run to take the lead at halftime 42-39. The Braves look tired and Marcellus has only 3 points on free throws. The Golden Eagles run coincided with the Braves decision to switch to a zone defense, which gave the Marquette alums a ton of open shots.

Always a Brave back to a 55-55 tie. They still look fatigued. Hope they can hold on and get the win!

These...referees...have let the teams play, called the calls that needed to be called, and have not tried to overdo it or take over the game. Despite most of these games being just as physical or more so than college games, they are a lot more enjoyable to watch because there are not quite so many whistles...

Just as I complimented the referees for not blowing so many whistles in the tournament games, this Braves-Golden Eagles game has seen a lot of ticky-tack fouls and other strange whistles like the call for Sommerville rebounding his own missed free throw.

The Braves alumni have now taken a 72-66 lead with about 5 minutes left.
Go Braves!

A couple shots of the crowd- I saw Zach Andrews cheering on the Braves, and I also got a glimpse of Dubl R 1!

Marquette has been insane nailing 3's in the final couple minutes - they had a chance to get within 4 or 5 but it's now 88-81 with 20.2 remaining

btw - a win here also gets Always a Brave an automatic spot in next year's tournament and likely a very high seed

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and to Bobby Parker who did a fantastic job of putting this team together and getting all the work done to get them approved.
Always a Brave is the Midwest Region Champion!

On to the Final Four next Saturday- 7:00 pm against Team Colorado

The Basketball Tournament had listed the game between the West Region winner and the Midwest Region winner at 7:00 PM Eastern, and the Northeast-South Region matchup at 5:00 PM Eastern.
However, they must feel the other matchup is better suited for the 7:00 PM Eastern game, so the times have been flipped.

So note that the Always a Brave-Team Colorado game will be at 5:00 PM Eastern (4:00 PM central) next Saturday, July 30.
It was just changed on The Basketball Tournament website-
