Always a Brave team in FINAL FOUR of The Basketball Tournament

After reading comments, I watched the last 2 1/2 minutes and that was awesome! And then TB in the post-game interview.... "the type of player I am, I don't go for overtime - I go for the kill"... He then said later when asked the feeling in the timeout when Braves down 5 with 17 seconds to go, he said "I gotta get Crouch this ball so he can knock this shot down and then we gotta get a steal and a bucket".

<3 Tony! Great shot! Great finish!

I have heard that Andrew Warren will not play due to his recent knee surgery.
Walt's status is slightly different. I have heard his issue may have more to do with the pro contract he just signed last week.

The TBT just posted the Super 16 bracket a few minutes ago and Always A Brave has drawn a prime time slot. The Bradley alumni will play the final game of the Super 16 - Friday 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2 versus Pedro's Posse, featuring retired NBA veterans Mike Bibby and Jason Williams. The winner will take on the Armored Athlete/Golden Eagles Alumni winner at 7 p.m. CT Saturday, also on ESPN2.

a little story on the BU victory for those who did not read..
http://thetournament.com/news/midwest-regional-sunday-recaap

Jason Williams &Bibby play the most on Pedro's Posse and neither shoot well from outside & Dulkys launches a bunch from beyond the arc..

but in their two games thus far those 3 are a combined 13-42 on 3-pointers....
only 30.9% from the arc -
hopefully with our guys' defense we can shut them down

I saw the Pedro's Posse team's game Sunday, and they were pretty good. They have good outside shooters, though I was not impressed with their inside play.
Here is their roster-
https://www.thetournament.com/teams/pedros-posse

Their starting center is a 6'11" Senegal native Amadou Mbodji who attended Jacksonville State. He is the only really big guy who plays significant minutes, but he is not much of an offensive threat and is quite skinny. Hopefully, POB would have the advantage there. NBA veterans Mike Bibby and Jason Williams both play point guard, though Bibby seemed to handle the ball-handling and PG duties most of the time. Neither takes a lot of outside shots, though both hit big three pointers down the stretch to secure the win. Bibby is 38 years old, and Williams is 40 years old, but they appeared to be in good condition.
Their other top players, and perhaps their best shooters are Bryan Richardson and Deividas Dulkys.
Richardson, a 6'4" shooting guard who played at UT-Chattanooga, was 6-9 from three on Sunday, and had a team-leading 20 points, and he was 5-8 from three on Saturday.
Dulkys is a 6'4" shooting guard who played at Florida State. He was 1-9 from three on Saturday, but was 4-10 on Sunday.

Here are the box scores from their games:

....Bibby seemed to handle the ball-handling and PG duties most of the time. ..

Williams has 16 assists in two games - a pretty good average - Bibby not far behind at 12 asst/2 games

Always a Brave will face Pedro's Posse at 8 p.m. Central time on ESPN2"

Awesome............totally awesome......Prime Time on NATIONAL TV!!!!

As fun as it was to see the guys in person, it has also been neat listening to the sideline ad huddle conversations, primarily comments from Guyton. He was giving his little brother a tough time on a few occasions...

"we had to get you out of the game....you're running out of everything!"

Midwest: No. 5 Pedro's Posse vs. No. 9 Always a Brave, Friday (9 p.m. on ESPN2)

Mike Bibby and Jason Williams have led the way for Pedro's Posse for the first
two victories. Bibby -- who won a national title with Arizona, was the second
overall pick in 1998 and spent more than a decade in the NBA -- almost had a
triple-double in the opener while Williams, who is 40 years old, had 17 points
and 10 assists in the win. Bibby and Williams have a supporting cast that
includes former Florida State guards Deividas Dulkys and Luke Loucks and
ex-Chattanooga guard Bryan Richardson, who is 11-of-17 from beyond the
arc in the two wins.

Always a Brave is full of former Bradley players on the 2006 team that
knocked off Kansas and Pittsburgh to reach the Sweet 16. Big man Patrick
O'Bryant was selected ninth overall in the 2006 draft, but it's been Marcellus
Sommerville who has led the way thus far, averaging 22.5 points and seven
boards in the two wins. Other 2006 Braves on the squad include Will Franklin,
Daniel Ruffin, Tony Bennett and Jeremy Crouch. There's also Sam Maniscalco,
Matt Salley and Phillip Gilbert.

still amazing - well over 100 people online & viewing even overnite and at 5-6am - interest in Bradley in the middle of summer!!

For those making the trip (Dubl R 1) or living in the area, you can use the promo code BRAVE2016 again to purchase discounted tickets for the games in Philadelphia this week.

I believe DC pointed out Pedro Posse's Bryan Richardson played at Chattanooga. He played against the Braves in 2002 at Carver Arena, coming off the bench to make 1-of-2 from beyond the arc in 9 minutes. Phillip Gilbert was the only AAB player at Bradley at the time and he scored 24 points. An unrelated player, Tim Parker, hit 7-of-9 3-point attempts to score a game-high 31 points in UTC's 82-70 win.

To be honest, I don't really remember any of that. What I remember from that game was the horn on the scoreboard blaring without stopping in the middle of the game. The game was delayed as we had to lower the board and cut the wire to the horn.
