Anything I say is of little significance

I think the majority of people are somewhere in the middle.

I would agree with this. As most of you know, I have been in the camp that would be okay with a change at the coaching position for BU.

However, I always go to St. Louis and always go to the BU home games. I always have done both and I will probably always do both in the future. No matter the economy or how bad BU is.

Its just tradition and ritual. I don't go to St. Louis just for BU. I go to watch all of the games. I love it when BU does well. It makes it 10000-times more fun. However, I stay no matter what. Its a nice getaway with the guys and a break from work.

I am in the camp that believes you can disagree with the coach or the program's direction AND still be a fan of the team. Again, we all want BU to win.

Zeeman, it was nice to hear from you. Welcome to the board.

Let's just hope next year we have something to get excited about!

Go BU

I agree. We drive from Tulsa to St. Louis every year for the MVC tourney, and will do so regardless of whether BU is 0-18 or 18-0 in the MVC. We also stay for every game. When back in Peoria during the season, if the Braves are home, we'll go the game, again regardless of their record. Like JD, I'm not sure if Les is the answer because he has zero top 3 MVC finishes in his tenure. Some here think that everyone is happy that BU is always in the 4/5 slot...they must really love that 2:35 pm Friday time slot if they think all is great with BU basketball.

BU fans are great because they will still attend games even if the team is terrible...that is one think I like about them, and do not like about sports fans down here in Oklahoma. That does not mean these fans are satisfied with always being a middle of the pack team. My alma mater is Iowa State, and their fans are the same way. They will draw nearly a full house at every home football game despite a team that for the most part has been terrible for over 25 years. That does not mean they are satisfied with the team and think all is rosy.

Good point to wrap up there. I know there are always going to be casual fans that come out when things are great. However, BU is blessed to have many "die-hards" who are always present no matter the circumstances.

Could a little bit of the no matter what have to do with the atmosphere? Wrigglyville is one of the top 3 baseball destinations if not the best of them all some would argue and I'm not just talking about the stadium but neighborhood included.

I've been to a bunch of stadiums, some are better then others but the whole experience of the bar life to the day games to the night life, a Cubs home game it is hard to beat.

You got it! As much as I respected the Sox for winning the World Series several years ago, I still will take Wrigleyville any day of the week! :D
