Just a question for Cub fans. Does is make you sick every time Howery comes into the game or is it just me? He has been horrible the last two months and Lou continues to throw him out there. I turn off the TV every time Lou brings him in and how he makes the playoff roster is beyond me. Just curious if i'm in this boat by myself.

Heck no you arent on the boat by yourself when it comes to Howery. I have cringed every time Lou has brought Howery in to pitch all year!
IMO, the only way Howery should pitch in the playoffs is if the Cubs are getting blown out and they need an arm to eat up useless innings which I hope doesn't happen.

First of all his name is spelled "Howry" and yes he is brutal, i'm not sure why he is even going to be on the roster, I very much doubt Lou will use him at all in the first series unless the score in one particular game is a blow out, hopefully going the cubbies way!

GO CUBS GO!!

That's what Jason Marquis is for!

Here's to a Rays-Brewers World Series. 8)

Well, at least Marquis can hit the occasional grand slam.

The Rays outfield is one of the better outfields that I have seen in a while. Personally, I liked the Devil Rays name better than just the Rays.

I hope all you Cardinals fans enjoy the post season. Hahaha

Go Cubs

I'm really OK with the Cardinals' season. This team was supposed to be terrible, and (aside from the bullpen) they were really fun to watch. Sure, they were frustrating at times, but I'll take 10 games over .500 considering they had major injuries to three key players and many picked them to lose 90 games.

Pujols is a stud.He gets my vote for NL MVP.

Are any of you Cubs fans enjoying your postseason so far?

Just glad the soxs are losing too.

Still hopeful the Cubs can turn it around and these first two are the only two they lose until next season.

I'll eat a little crow after the first two games. But it's not over yet.
Yeah, it's definitely not over...if Harden can shut them down in game 3, it will be interesting to see how the Dodgers play with some pressure on them...anything can happen in a short series...
But the midwestern teams sure are taking it on the chin so far...cubs, sox, and brewers 0-6...

I'm not sure which performance was worse: Cardinals in the '04 World Series or the Cubs wetting the bed in these three games.

This Cub debacle was way, way worse than the 2004 Cardinal performance against the Red Sox...
The Cards sucked in the series, but it was because they just didn't hit...they pitched and fielded pretty well, overall.
The Cubs this year pitched horribly, hit worse, and fielded like the Tigers' pitching staff in the 2006 WS...and on top of that, they did this against a horribly mediocre Dodgers team.
Hard to figure out.

Fetz86, if the Sox win or lose I'll still be able to wear my 2005 World Series hat, just to show Cub fans what one looks like.

Are you serious Scouter?

You have to win 2 series to even get to a World Series, even if the Cardinals did play equal to or worse the the Cubs, they won two series, 7 games, to get even the opportunity to play in the World Series.

But I will tell you, the Cardinals performance in the 06 Series was a whole lot better then the Cubs performance in any playoff series they have played in the last 100 years. :)

That goes without saying. I was just comparing their play in one series, not the entire postseason.
