Bradley at ISU, Tuesday, Feb. 22, 7:05 pm

Thanks...I just snorted my soda out my nose. Not pickin on you I was just thinking about that "next level."

:)

Come on dogsrus, this isn't that difficult to figure out!

We're talking about the team finishing strong to a point where they can pick right up where they left off this year (the last ten games or so, that is) and hopefully continue to win as consistently as they have over the last three weeks. Of course we're not going to finish higher than ninth. It's too late in the season to evaluate our team based on conference finish and overall record. But it is not too late to evaluate how we have played over the past month, and that's obviously the last thing this team will remember, how they finished.

I know "past performance does not always guarantee future results", but at least finishing strong should give this team the confidence to continue this trend through next season, even without AW and DD. Trending in the right direction is always a very important way to end a season, and this season just happens to have the same feel as Coach Mo's second season. That was a season where Bradley started out 6-14, but won 5 of their last 7. And that momentum continued the following year to a 23-8 record and a NIT quarterfinal appearance. And that was the first of four straight postseason appearances, 3 NIT's and 1 NCAA Tournament. So to downplay the end of an otherwise bad season is not the way to build confidence for those players coming back next year.

Refs totally ****ed us on that phantom bul***** call on dse with 15.3 left. Completely ridiculous call again. I want out of this bul***** conference.

That's awesome, ISU storms the court.

Let's not forget, "These (are) two bad men??™s college basketball teams playing a bad game that (was likely) badly officiated."

HOw flippin lame was that.

-Hollywood award for Carmichael
-Very minor chest bump with 15 seconds left
-4 step travel for the game winner

And to top it off, ISU fans rush the court to celebrate not finishing in the cellar LOL. Best i've seen all year.

No, but **** near. Let's see what happens Thursday before we go declaringing things. I can only hope it's only up from here.

ISU is one team that we do not match up well against because we have no one that has been able to stop Carmichael and Lewis and Austin have also been problems, pretty much every team has limited Carmichael to single digits this season yet he plays like an All American against us.
Carmichael and Austin Hill beat us once again , Hill should have been stopped on their last possession, probably traveled but should have been made to give up the ball, they only stormed the court because they beat BU , kind of made their season, we should have won both games but then we should have won several more games, it will be a miracle if the season does not end a week from friday.

I was not able to watch the game, and that's probably a good thing. We need to either train our players, or find new ones, that actually want to be in at the end of the game. Players that have the confidence to get things done. Seems to me that confidence is the one thing that we seem to lack across the board. I don't know if it is fear of making a mistake, which they should not have, or doubting their own abilities, which they should not do. There is no doubt that the last couple of years we have done a horrible job finishing games.

We're not good, for many reasons. I listened to the postgame, and Coach Les seemed to have a very resigned tone. Just by hearing his voice, I think this game took a lot out of him. I feel bad for him, because I know he is giving all he's got.

I noticed a very different tone as well Buesch. I really couldn't put a finger on it without seeing his body language and facial expression. I'll be honest, it almost sounded scary to me. He seemed rushed, impatient, pissed....... hopeless. It sounded as if he needed help. :( I really felt sorry for Jim. I wish him the best.

I know Jim is disappointed at how this season has transpired, but he not someone who gets depressed. He is excited and optimistic about next season and the future, as well as about the tournament. I am sure he is ready for a year without serious injury issues.

good assessment Jason -- I too thought it was a little overblown to score on a 2-pt basket and run the entire length of the court thumping your chest, hooting and hollering like you just dunked over Wilt Chamberlain, scored the game winning goal in OT for the World Cup Championship, or beat Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France.

or hit a walk off home run to win the World Series 4 games to 3!

I wonder how the posts would be different the last 2 days had BU stopped Hill from scoring the winning basket.
Despite how lousy we played offensively, most of us would be looking forward to the next game instead of the next coach, and feeling decent about how we've played over the last 7 games.

I guess Michigan feels the same way, as their buzzer-beater loss to Wisconsin likely takes them out of consideration for the NCAA Tourney.

At least we didn't have much to lose...
Just our 3rd straight 1-pt. come-from-behind loss to our rivals. ;-)

Just some thoughts.

I know a 1 point loss still goes in the books as a loss just like a 30 point loss...

but ..I do agree with you....all BU may have needed was a break or two in a few games....
and at least 5-6 of BU's losses where we were within a bucket or two late in the 2nd half could have been wins...

Most fans say that every year....man if we only caught a few breaks those 5 losses by 2 points could have been wins. What the forget is they USUALLY have an equal amout of wins by that same slim margin that, if the OTHER team caught those breaks, would have turned those W's into L's.

I agree -- but other teams we were battling for last place had almost NO close losses, most of their losses were demoralizing -- which maybe bodes worse for chances in the tourney

That's why it's smart to not take your foot off the peddle when you're up by 12-15 points because you feel sorry for the opposing coach who agreed to come play you in a preseason game...and then end up losing the game  Some coaches have no problem winning by 25-40 points, and they still are liked and get ranked.
