Bradley branding and mascot

*Best players seem to be African Americans from the east/southeast/south
*Would think fish for dinner and fishing would appeal to these recruits
*BU being on the Illinois River with plenty of Asian carp to catch and pan fry, should be a big recruiting advantage for BU

Therefore, I propose

Fighting Carp as BU's new mascot/logo

Here it is!

th
BU Fighting Carp

May have to touchup the color a bit...
.......
Unfortunately, I think the sophomoric residents of Normal who are all too amused by their ability to rearrange 2 letters, would love nothing more to invent their own cheer for the Bradley Carp

Hey -- here's an interesting thought...
University of Hawaii is having a special promotion but it is entirely based on mocking and ridiculing a certain segment of our society...
...and all the more - it is a segment of society that has historically been ridiculed & bullied for eons and it's just NOT FAIR!!!

Isn't this terribly demeaning, insulting, and unfair to those million of us who are nerds, geeks, & dorks???

They have a NERD NIGHT and every student dressed as a NERD gets in free, and there's even a prize for the BEST nerd "costume"...

"Nerd Night “Get Geeked Up for Nerd Night!”
It’s finals week, but even nerds need a study break.
Prize for the best geek chic (i.e. best dressed nerd, geek, or dork).
Think TV show “Big Bang Theory” for inspiration.*"

I was assuming this struck a nerve by hitting a little too close to home. :p

Actually, there is a whole geek and nerd "movement" going on where those terms are embraced and used as empowerment by those who self-identify. Examples would be Best Buy's Geek Squad and one of the largest web development houses The Nerdery, who labels their employees as "nerds."

I work in a digital marketing environment and most of us are happy to call ourselves geeks...heck, we spend time one-upping each other to see who is the biggest geek.

If you don't believe me, do some hashtag searches on Twitter and look at people's profile info...people often identify themselves proudly as a nerd or a geek.

My main point is that I don't think there is anything wrong with the promotion in this day and age.

I was at the Gordman's store in Peoria and noticed they had a lot of nice Bradley shirts- but they just about all had the old logo-
