Bradley men to wear pink uniforms

As long as we are not allowing an ISU to wear their home whites. We just broke the losing streak that ensued after we allowed the other ISU to wear their home whites on our floor.

OK............I cheer for the Braves even if they wear polka dot but I'd certainly laugh if they did...

remember this is a violation of some league and state rules that require home teams to wear white...
I hope if the MVC has such a rule we've check it out first...

Only a handful of Division I men's teams ever done this before?
..some DII's have done it....

and I can find only one D-I - Pacific that wore full pink

Creighton had white with pink trim last year

Hopefully we'll wear white with "hints" of pink, and some black too. Creighton's blue and pink looked nice and not too girly if there "has" to be pink in the uniforms.

I hate this idea. I didn't think I could like something less than the idea of black jerseys, but this is it.

And partnering with Komen too!

Terrible all around.

Bad idea.... enough already.... Not taking anything away from cancer research, or, women's cancer research/support (particularly breast cancer)...

But really.... how much (over) exposure and games for other groups proclaiming their support are needed?

It's getting to be so frequent with breast cancer, seems like just another ploy to get more butts into BU's MBB Game seats...

Wait a minute, what ever it takes to fill the joint...!!!!!!!

We should have special jerseys for a men's colon cancer cure game, a lung cancer cure game, an Alzheimer's cure game, a St Jude's support game, an Adopt a stray dog or cat game, an AIDS research/cure/support game (suppose BU could re-use the pink jerseys), a Jenny Craig lose the fat game (no jerseys bigger than XL), a no more assult weapons game (cammo jerseys, or, ninja warrior black trench coats instead of jerseys)

Sheesh..... :roll::roll::roll:

Agreed AZ. Breast cancer "awareness" is at 100%. I think we can stop using that term anytime now.

Also I don't understand why you spend a bunch if money to do the rebranding with specific color combinations only to completely disregard it 20 games into the first season with your premiere sport. It reminds me of goofy minor league jersey promos like the Chiefs or Rivermen.

When is the San Diego chicken coming to town?!

Pink = ugh!

Lots of college teams don't wear white at home.

I agree with regards to awareness, etc. Plenty of awareness.

I'm with you on two outa three... I loved the black unis, but otherwise Komen? And Pink? Ugh...

Women's sports do pink. It's a disease specific to women. (Breast cancer) I've never seen a women's team support prostate cancer and I get that. In fact very few mens' teams do in general- Yet before we throw some tiny blue prostate cancer ribbon on our jersey's, we wear all pink? I have no problem with the pink thing as it supports a good cause but the lack of the "blue" especially with it's association to the mens' aspect of things with men's basketball is frustrating IF you're gonna pick a "color".
Doesn't need to be gender related at all. How bout a cancer awareness game with cancer survivors without gender-related criteria? Is that too broad of a spectrum?

How many people die every year from smoking cigarettes? Heart disease? Suicide? Have those not reached the momentum necessary to draw a crowd at a basketball game? Never once heard of any one of those things drawing attention for a sporting event. Not picking on BU, but really.

As long as they do not go back to those short shorts.

I remember JL saying he showed his players film of when he played for Bradley and if they didn't give 100% they would be wearing the same style uniform. Got a good laugh from the crowd.

NOOOOOOOO! They better win. I'm already thinking about my "playing soft" posts.

It might be just what we need. Wasn't there some country song about a dad that was going to give a girls name to his son so that he would grow up fighting and wing up tough?

Finally found it, Johnny Cash, "a Boy Named Sue"
And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along.
So I give ya that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."

Are you guys kidding? You're against cancer fundraising and awareness.

I lost both parents to cancer and my sister is currently fighting it. This is disgusting to read.

I hope none of you have to deal with cancer. It's a destructive and debilitating disease. You guys have gone way over the line.
