Bradley vs Duke

I love this quote dogs! :) It really made me laugh.

Oh, and Duke WILL be good next year. I think they will be a preseason Top 10-15..... and it will be justified, IMO.

I've seen it where they are rated #1 in one poll. The addition of Seth and the Plumlee brothers with a year under their belt, I'd expect them to be pretty darn good. Forget about the new guys the guys coming back should be pretty good.

This is an awesome non conference game. Hopefully it also means it'll be on national tv. I recall when Evansville played UNC last year it was on ESPN2 or something.

This is a great job by all involved on the Hilltop. Now BU has to find a way to pull of the W.

I know most think it cannot be done, but most said the same about the Kansas and Pitt games.

Neutral court is so much better then on the road.

Possible matchups?

Singler - Brown

Irving - Dyricus

Plumlees - Will and MO/JP/AT

Smith - DODIE

maniscalco - scheyer would have been fun...

yeah Sam is at a height disadvantage with smith and kyrie

:D :D :D WOOOHHHH!!! I would love to get on a bus trip! If the students are gone and it really is only 2/3 full, I say BU should send the rest of that (1/3) straight to them! :D I'm hoping for a return game at Carver! It'd blow any attendance record we have out of the water (Even MSU and ISU games)! Seriously, people would pay to stand in the area around the lower bowl, on the stairs, and outside around the arena! :D :D Would be GREAT home game for us, but I'm happy and focused on a W @ Cameron Indoor!

Couple of things:

JL is by all accounts on the hot seat, but he is showing bigtime "stones" by going on the road and playing at Duke. He could have pushed for a game at home v someone and gotten a close to guaranteed win.

Imagine how pumped our team is knowing it will be on one of the biggest stages in college basketball.

I am not a huge fan of buy games but as TAS said you do not say no to Duke. We certainly are serious about challenging ourselves when it comes to scheduling. It really is to bad most of the rest of this conference isnt.

This is as beatable as Duke has been in years. Much like when we beat Kansas in the NCAA's, Duke will likely have a roster of mostly very young (albeit very talented) players. Kyle Singler I believe will be their most experienced (and clearly best) player. The rest of the guys should be relatively inexperienced. Duke will likely be way overrated, and if the rumored date holds true, the students will be gone and the place will probably only be 2/3 full. We will have as good of a shot as we'll ever have.

Hey BB you better take a close look @ this Duke team as they will more then likely start the year rated #1 (already are in many pre season poles)and that isn't because they won last year. They return 5 of their top 7 players and add Seth Curry to that group plus bring in one of their best recruiting classes they have had recently.
On the other hand I am very happy to see BU playing them and my hope is that we are respectable. Of course the last 2 times we played teams and I said that, it was Kansas in the tourn. and IL last year and we all know how those turned out. Could I possibly go 3 & 0 in these "look respectable" games? Time will tell.

Yeah...I was swimming in Kool-Aid a bit when I wrote that...I was excited and fired up...cut me some slack! :D

Just for the sake of argument...

since I have frequently seen Valley fans and even top people in the Valley such as coaches, AD's, and League personnel
saying that Valley schools should NOT do guarantee games and one-time road deals.....

Then someone explain why we have not seen that argument here?

Don't get me wrong, I have been in favor of this kind of game for years and have applauded when Wichita State went to LSU and Syracuse, etc...
I have no problem if the top guys will play us, jump at it.....
But, I wonder why those who have argued strongly against Valley teams doing guarantee games (I know Jank and even Doug Elgin have been outspoken against doing it) are silent here..

D--n It T, I agree with you totally on all this:!::D Look by playing the big Guys at their place (for one and done) is what we have to do to get national attention, help us in the RPI, and move our league to a high level, so be it. NOW, wouldn't be something if we were to add Butler to this year:!: Even if it was at their place:!::D:D
Anyone, Any Place and Anytime:!::!: Go get them JL and BU:D:D

This is a dumb game. I would rather have a home win than getting blown out on the road on espn.

You want a big reward? You need to take a big risk. Big boys aren't coming to Carver rarely if ever, that is how it is. Beating a cupcake at home gets us nowhere. What has it gotten ISU? We want to take the next step, we gotta start playing and winning these games.

Losing this game cost us nothing in terms of image, but winning it gains us everything. I'm glad you have so much confidence in our boys. Maybe we should have played a home NIT game and declined an NCAA bid to play Kansas on a neutral site and get blown out. Oh wait we won that game. You never know what can happen, and I believe our boys will give them a great game at least. I know our computer numbers will look better because of the game for sure.
