Bradley vs Duke

Posted one other time and removed one other time.

Not a big fan of this if it happens, I prefer home and home with similar teams not buy games. But if we can get national exposure on the Motherships maybe its good. Then again our last time we dipped the toe into BCS territory on TV v Florida that didnt workout so great.

It would be nice to play at such a storied place...hopefully it will happen some day..
I just hope talk coming from inappropriately leaked sources doesn't torpedo efforts...

I would love it. If JL and staff can pull it off that would be great. I'm not sure why there would be any dissent regardless of how the contract was set up. One game there and done, one there and a neutral, 2 there one in Carver (which would be beyond great) all work for me. BU basketball should strive to play the best and in doing so we will have to concede a bit, like it or not. Until we become a Butler or Gonzaga the ability to dictate terms to the BCS teams will be dubious at best. That is just a reality.

I agree this would be cool if it turns out to be true, but I would really hope for a away-home-away like the series with Michigan St. or at least a netural site game. We'd only have a shot at winning in Carver or on a neutral floor and the game(s) at Duke would probably be over by the first half like the ones at Michigan St., Butler, and Florida of the past few years.

Duke is one of about a dozen or so programs no one should mind playing in a one-and-done.

I agree! As much as I would love to get a home game in a series with Duke, if we couldn't get that I would still definitely play them one-and-done at their place.

I'm not sure where this came from or how true it is looking at other posts, but this would get me very excited if it is true.

A 2 and 1 would be even better. If it were me, I'd give Duke 100% that nights revenue and make up for it with increased season tickets and pre-sale of 4 game power packs

Saaaweeeeet!!!

Let's go to Cameron and go Crazy on the Dukies!!!

I'm all for playing tough games in non-conference for several reasons - maybe the biggest for preparing your team for conference play!

Way to go BU!!!

Great game to schedule as we will be playing the National Champion team with nothing to lose and everything to gain, great exposure for the program.

Good job Bobby........

was anyone there for this game...
At the Fieldhouse....December 23, 1950:
Bradley 93 - Duke 58! (just a couple years before Coach K was there)

(btw- that season we beat Houston Dec 2, Oregon State Dec. 7, DePaul Dec. 9, Purdue Dec. 13, Georgia Tech Dec. 16, UCLA Dec. 19, Duke Dec. 23, Indiana Dec. 27, and Syracuse Dec. 29, not a bad month...
later in January we also beat St. john's, Oklahoma State, Pittsburg, and Stanford!)

This news is finally out- officially.
I think Dave Reynolds was able to get confirmation on this, only because the story had leaked out earlier than BU wanted. Some details of the game are yet to be determined, but I heard that a date is already set.:D

But I have heard that this agreement to play at Duke was secured several weeks ago, and in fact, has been "in the works" for a few years, as our coach has been acquainted with Coach K for many years.

Great job with the scheduling BU! We could have just scheduled a whole bunch of patsies, like Illinois State and others do, but our coach, AD, and team would rather work to put together the best schedule possible.

An absolutely fantastic get by BU! I had begged Ken for years to do buy games with the big boys...looks like Dr Cross is on board with that idea! It's a no lose for BU as long as they don't get pasted. SOS alone is now a non-issue despite the weakness of most of the rest of our schedule. Excellent job!

Great job everyone involved, and way to make a splash with the scheduling Dr. Cross. All of the sudden we've got one heck of a non-conference schedule...
