BREAKING: Jeter won't pursue BU job

The Bradley job was somewhere just outside of the Top 50 nationally.
In a very short time, it isn't there any more, and that is just what some "fans" here apparently wanted. Just realize things could get a lot worse before they get any better.

I said this before. 3-5 years if it is a "good" hire 5-7 if it is bad. Why don't you guys listen to me! ;)

From an interested outsider looking in......................something don't smell right over there on the hill? Is Cowboy Jerry Jones calling the shots or wtf ??????????????????

You have a primo chance to rise BU above the immediate futures of instate conference neighbors SIU and IL St. right away and things aren't sounding well?

Honestly, I'm sure many on here won't agree with me but I wouldn't go by what is said on here and think we are in trouble. Things are a mess right now but eventually we will have a coach in place. The players will either stay or leave depending on what they think of the new coach. It may be rebuilding or it may be decent right away. We will be back though.

Indeed, this must be some of the "additional information" that Kaplan had that nobody in Peoria knows about....

And glee is felt throughout the land, as the "I told you so crowd" celebrates.....

Yes I think Kaplan knows quite a bit and I think that there is a strong possibility that we may be blackballed in the coaching community. However, there is no "glee" here. It's quite sad actually. Apparently from the UWM board, we offer a coach $700k/year, which is about $300k more per year than I thought we would offer a potential candidate, and we can't close the deal. It's sad really...

Not to worry.....this is the long-term solution. ;-)

If you really think this, then you really don't get it.

I think you hit on something there. If this were happening at one of those schools, many on here would have the same opinion. But since the people that are voicing those opinions about it happening here, they are the "sky is falling" crowd.

WOW...$700k for a new coach? Add another $50k to that number and we can get Chris Lowery!!!

I'm not sure I do get it can you explain?

All I can figure is some won't be happy until the Administration is gone. I don't see that happening. So where do they go from here? Can time bring them back or is it going to be like this long term?

Find it hard to believe we offered anyone 700k a year, if that is the case it should not take much longer to get our 2nd choice with that kind of money .

It's going to be like this long-term unless a "statement" hire is made. The longer we go without hiring a new coach, the less chance we have of getting that "statement" hire. I know that there will be many that will disagree with me on this, but 16 days is a long time to go without a head coach.

I'd love to see us try Monson again. I have to admit it doesn't make much sense for him though. I think we will make a quick move to the next coach unless we were totally blindsided by Jeter.

If Jeter was option number one, I think we're going to be very disappointed in our 2nd choice.

I probably don't, as I am a lowly upper bowl attendee....

I also don't believe as many people who "think they know" really do know....

KK, who many revered here, was also a micro-manager- so what.. Not everything is JG and MC's fault, just like it wasn't Jimmy's fault....

Let them run through the process, not nit-pick every "alleged" wrong that they perpetrate on the city and the University...
