All 4 recruits committed to Jim Les. He was an essential key to their commitment. I would expect all 4 of them to consider other options if JL was not here. And none of them would have any trouble getting other very good offers.

Also a very good point. I'll stick my neck out and say that I think we got a steal with Remy especially.

Just because Les is gone doesn't necessarily bring automatic success. But there comes a time when enough is enough, and I've had about enough. We're regressing, and you can't deny it.

Really on board with this....JL gets SM-TB back with the new recruits and see where it goes.......keeping all 4 recruits coming in and we are at a place where we might have to let a few current players go if we can bring in current help! This years makes me want a juco player in each recruiting class, the slow delopement on 4 year players is showing up this season with Sammy and Taylor out with no-one ready to take there spots!

It all comes down to whether or not you believe JL can win a championship next year. If not, you hire someone who you believe can. While yes, you stand to create a difficult senior season for someone who clearly doesn't deserve it.

On the other hand, you also potentially set the next guy back a year in a lame duck situation because recruiting could effectively stop.

My thought process is not to be unfair to Sammy. My thought process is that Sammy (+Taylor) is special enough to lead this team to a Valley title if the other pieces fit together.

I thought this was a 2nd place team going into this year, so if someone wants to make the argument this is a title contender next year with Les, I'd listen, although I'd probably ultimately disagree.

As for everyone else's thought on the recruits....no matter what year a firing would happen, some class would get cut off and there would be danger of losing recruits. The problem wouldn't be unique to this year.

I have heard differently. POB was followed by Molinari, but no offer was extended until Jim Les offered him before his senior year in high school. Every new coach will want to review and see any previous recruits before he agrees to offering them, but once he did see him, JL was 100% behind recruiting POB and had no hesitation about offering a scholarship, which Jim Les did in the summer of 2003. Signing POB early (he signed in Nov. 2003) turned out to be key, since he had a great senior season, and was contacted by multiple Big Ten schools, including Illinois and Minnesota, among other bigs to see how strong his commitment was.

I fall into the camp he cant and wont and regardless of someones situation, someone will get hurt/screwed on a replacement of a coach. Recruits may or may not still come but every year that could be a situation. Do you not let Les go after next year because it would upset Eastman since he would be a senior? Eventually that does not matter and what is best for the program needs to be the deciding factor.

I really think he has lost the program both within the community and within his locker room. I also do not believe any recruit is worth the hype until he plays on the court at the D1 level.

IE Thompson, Milos currently, along with others who have had hype and no substance.

It is time to bring a new voice, a new vision and a new perspective to this program.

Even if BU finishes at 8-10 this season, I'll be a little happier, but will be asking, "Why did it take so long to get the guys on the same page?" Is it because of the loss of 2 of your best players? or is it the same thing that's happened in the past 3 seasons, where we gel in the 2nd half of league play. Probably a little of both.

I'm looking for a response (is there life out there?) from BU's team tomorrow vs. Drake. If we don't get better in a few games - well that's unacceptable, because you have to make adjustments with the players you've got. So far, the adjustments have not worked, and we're still seeing the same mistakes and shortcomings by players - not lack of talent, but lack of focus, discipline, confidence. These start from the top and work down to the players. We should have gotten more out of these guys at this point in the season. Stop dreaming about our 1st place Valley finish with Sammy & Taylor, and wake up to where we are as a team today.
