BU -siu in game thread!

FT's & lay-ups were the difference.

You have to give Tatum credit - knocking down Tauai while he was trying to inbound the ball gave SIU a chance to set their D forcing BU to try to bring the ball up the length of the court - much tougher.

Can a foul be called on tackling the inbounder? Because Tatum completely tackled Ruffin as he tried to take the ball out of bounds for the last play of the game.

Why wasn't that called a foul? I mean, that was ridiculous.

CREDIT?!?!?! That should have been a foul or a line violation or whatever ... Tauai had the ball , you CANT do that. That cost us any chance because Will was streaking down the floor and woulda at least been at the 3-pt. line.

It was Tauai? I thought it was Ruffin, my bad. Regardless that was a pathetic no call on that play. Whether they got tangled up or it was unintentional or whatnot, I think it's clear that SIU got away with that one big time.

Since were complaining - Shaw & Falker got away with over the back & hip check (picks) all game long as well. One play they went over Franklin's back with inside position and he got called for the foul!!

Absolutely flabbergasted--what a game! Both teams really earned their 104 points today. Too bad we couldn't have hit our season average for foul shooting--could have swung things in Bradley's favor.

We'll see what next week brings. Air Force and Utah State were shock picks last year (so was BU in some circles). We have a bad 1-8 record vs. top 50 teams, but a commendible 8-9 road/neutral record. Our worst loss was at Michigan State which was the last game in a 3-game losing streak. The other 2 losses to Illinois and Tennessee Tech could have gone either way, so you could cut Bradley some slack there.

Also, we have good SOS and RPI numbers on our non-conference schedule, and since the NCAA is one big non-conference tournament, perhaps that will weigh in our favor too. NIT is most likely, but after watching today's game I think BU can claim bubble status as much as any other bubble team around. With the exception of that home loss to UNI, you can't say Bradley played its way out of the tournament down the stretch this season.

I tell you whats sickening, is watching MO state against Creighton. Barely putting up a battle early on. Bradley had 1 star player out on injury for nearly 2/3rds of the season and have played great ball, with exception of NIU game at home, the last month and a half. I hope the committee at least takes into account nearly beating an 11th ranked team on a 12 game winning streak and holding their last 2 opponents under 55 points when season average was about 68 points. Not to mention, BU's SOS is 24 points higher than MO State, although MO State did beat us pretty good. Bradley deserves to be in the big dance. Would of easily been 3rd ranked team had been healthy all year long.

I thought the officiating was not good the first part of the game but we lost because we could not make our freethrows; it was not just one player missing but several ; too bad because we outplayed them 90% of the game and they are not a better team as we proved today.I think every Bradley fan is dissappointed because they really deserved to win but it has been a great year and lets not get discouraged by this.

Not why we lost, but you're right. That was REDICULOUS. I thought it was a technical foul to touch the inbounder. What's more rediculous is that 1. The announcers didn't even mention anything about it and 2. The ref blew his whistle, so how is it not a foul, or a violation on JJ. It has to be something, not just a do-over. By doing that, Tatum allowed his defense a chance to get set, without any penalty.

I'm just now getting over that loss. Really nerve racking to listen to. Too bad our 3 best free throw shooters could only make 3 of their last 6 free throws. But the one I feel bad for is DA. He has been a great BU fan forever. I'm sure our season isn't over with and DA could still make his presence felt.
