BU vs. Creighton Friday, March 5, 2:35 pm

You should have an asterisk next to AW because he was pretty sick out there on Saturday. I feel pretty good about Friday's game. DSE will not play as bad, we may not see JSE score as many as he did but the other guys who had a bad day will make up for it. Frankly scoring was not a problem, our defense was and that can be fixed IMO.

Just showing the scoring trend while each player was on the floor for those two games. Not sure how else to assess the situation as it takes into account defense as well as offense.

You also forgot that Sammy had only 3 points, and he's not had consecutive games like that since the beginning of the season.

I agree about DSE, but it seems like everyone continues to make excuses about AW...
This can be bulletin board material, I don't care...

How about this...

When is he going to actually play two WHOLE halves?!

I'm not making excuses for him but most players would not have suited up on Saturday if they felt like he did. I did hear it from a very reliable source that he could barely eat. I also wish he was a bit more aggressive but do we have anyone that can fill his shoes where opposing teams cannot double up on the post and leave them alone like him. SM is the other guy but after him there is no one else. After a year of not being able to play ball at all I believe he is playing pretty well. I do expect much higher level of ball from him though next year.

Seems that BU teams that win in Arch Madness do not tally up a bunch of points, but defense has been the key.
Also, big runs contribute too. Last year, BU had a couple good spurts where they found ways to score and then made stops (vs. SIU).
We just can't allow CU to go on big runs, as they did 2 years ago, and have done twice to us this year.

Frankly, he disappoints me as its not the talent level thats the issue...he HAS the talent...

I just still get the feeling with Drew that he feels like he can turn it on and off whenever he wants to, and plays at half speed sometimes...

I'll say what I was getting at with C-Rob in the other thread, IF everyone played with the heart, intensity, and energy that Chris leaves out on the floor every game, this team would be top 3, regardless of the coaching.

The first 4 minutes of 2nd halves and last 4 of the 1st halves are always the key with this team.

I'M FIRED UP!!! I think we will get the WIN on Friday.

I don't believe a team has a tough time beating another team 3 times in a year. A much better team should always win.

But that is not the case here - We will match up well with Creighton. Will = Stay out of Foul Trouble!

GO BRAVES!!

For those interested in such things, here's how each game turned out for +/- points per 40 for each player/combination of players......

I went through both games against Creighton to find the +/- points while any given player and combination of players were on the floor. Then I calculated those numbers on a "per 40" basis to put each player/group of players on the same scale.

According to what players have produced against Creighton this season, I wouldn't mind starting the highlighted players below.

I actually agree with this. I like that starting lineup for tomorrow. but we all know that would NEVER happen.

Dave Reynolds' MVC notebook-
http://www.bradleyhoops.com/homepag...ook-Redbirds-set-up-for-a-deep-tournament-run

Dave reported this-
Ticket sales down: All-session tickets to this year??™s tournament, totaling 6,335, are down 13 percent from last year??™s figure of 7,246 and 22 percent below the all-time high of 8,141 of 2008.
Valley officials point to the flagging economy and competitively down years by some traditionally well-supported schools.
Creighton has shown the biggest decline, down from 1,744 to 1,125. Others showing big dropoffs are Bradley (from 924 to 600), Illinois State (from 1100 to 850), Drake (from 500 to 225), Evansville (from 300 to 180) and Southern Illinois (from 1100 to 1000).
Teams on the upswing are Wichita State (from 687 to 990), Northern Iowa (from 407 to 757) and Missouri State (from 380 to 500).

The part that gets me is them saying both teams know what to expect, a few added wrinkles would be nice plus a good start where we jump out to the lead and make them try to play catchup.

From the Omaha World Herald-

Altman doesn't relish rematch with Bradley

I hope we are in the same boat! Made me laugh.

" "Altman was asked if he's concerned his team might be overlooking Bradley since it already has beaten the Braves twice.

???I don't think overconfidence has been a problem with this team all year,??? he said, laughing. ???When you're 16-14, you don't have to worry about that too much.??? "

if BU plays like I have believed they can all year....as in shoot well and run the pick and roll well...we win....if we quintuple team lawson their shooters are bound to hit a few.....hmmm even i can hit college threes....we better hope they go cold....i will be

???Charge on, Charge on Bradley,

March right down the field,

Foes may press you,

Foes may even stress you,

But we??™ll never yield.

Fight for Alma Mater,

Plunge right thru to victory.

Fight on , Fight on Bradley,

And fight for varsity!???
