CLo Outcoached?

BU was prepared, SIU was not...
Bradley had countless easy shots and nailed them, SIU settled for LONG 3-pointers, which is not their game.
Bradley threw numerous shifting defenses...

1-3-1, 2-3, and man-to-man, and every time down court, the Salukis looked lost.
They kept calling time-outs and redesigning their offense, then when they hit the floor, BU had changed their defense again and SIU was STILL totally lost.

One timeless comments from Coach Stowell on the post-game show....
"I don't know what offense they were running but whatever it was they didn't run it very well..."
ha, ha..........right call Coach Stowell!!

yes because BU has never looked like that:roll:....

We win a game and we have to knock the other coach? I don't get it.

I dont know if Lowery was or wasnt out coached. But we decided to get the ball into the lane which opened up our outside scoring. The getting into the lane allowed us to continue to get to the free throw line where today we made our free throws. Bradley played good solid defense but SIU made that a little easier as they refused to get the ball into the lane and settled for jump shots, we did a decent job of rebounding and they turned it over alot.

If us making shots versus our usual poor shooting overall is out coaching then so be it, but I think it is we got our offense into areas in the lane that allowed for our athletic players to make plays both passing the ball and in shooting.

SIU in many areas looked like us from a few previous games no chemistry and a look of a team who had never met each other.

Making shots makes alot of things look better.

SIU is a good team and we beat them

Clo is a good coach and he was outcoached today...no knock on anyone, so why start picking on the posters already?
Fact is fact and the BU announcers saw it also...we were better prepared and our coaching staff outcoached theirs.
They could have used ten more timeout and it still wouldn't have helped.

A whole lot of people were dead wrong about this game and dead wrong about Bradley (just go back and look at the predictions thread), but I am happy they were.

I agree with you on that Lefty. But then again, now he know's how our coach feels.

I agree with you here Chico.
A lot worse things have been posted here about Coach Les after the last couple games. I guess it's OK for Bradley fans to rip their own players and coach, but we mustn't do that when the opposition coach gets beaten.:D

maybe I misunderstood the post or read too much into it. We played a good game and they played poorly I thought. When we win JL outcoaches everyone and when we lose it's because our players don't play well..

I agree Clo is good coach(not great)...I don't about their team. I can only assume they play better than they did today...otherwise it will be long season for them

I disagree....this just happened to be one game that clearly we outcoached them.
In the club room before the game, the coaches came in to give some insight to the BSS members, and talked abuot the matchups, and the kind of defenses that would be played.
They even had anticipated the kinds of calls the refs were going to make, and they had everything right to a "T".

by the way....three baddddd calls.........

the supposed intentional foul on Maniscalco...he went clearly for the ball and got 90% ball - no intent to hit the player...the ref with the best view did not call intentional.

Then one of the travelling calls on Dodie was also ridiculous...he faked with his hands and never moved his foot.....the ref went for the ball fake and called travelling on a guy who never moved his fett at all.

Lastly, and I am sure Coach Les agrees on this one..
The "jump ball" call when Booker reached all the way around David Collins with both hands and it wasn't a foul but was called a jump.
Bad call....

I don't know that I have ever see a player get a jump ball call like that- he simply reached his hands around Collins and made contact with the ball. He didn't have any possession of the ball. Should have been a foul on Booker.

The flagrant call on Sam's foul was also bogus. And there were a couple travelling calls that were a stretch.

there were plenty of calls both ways. I thought they could have called more travels on both teams. I saw the replay on Sam's intentional since we sit behind the scorer's table. It was the right call. No way Sam was going for the ball. When you see it you can tell.

Jim Bain was there so maybe he took notes. there was bad calls both ways.

C'mon T...you only bring up the bad calls against BU;)

Hopefully we will have more games where we outcoach the other team

I am sure he would love to take the opponents' sides, but he doesn't need to, there seem to be plenty of BU fans who do that. Note that only mrcoachdude picked BU to win the game.

I was hoping our friend Carlton Fay would have had a better game......but its great to see BU step up their game and come away with a BIG W....SIU will beat some good teams on the road....

bad calls are bad calls....but all the travelling calls on SIU were legit.
Gimme an example of a bad call on SIU?

Carlton appeared to get a cramp in his right calf when jumping for a first half rebound. He was never the same after that and was limping after he was taken out of the game. I hope he's OK.

count me in the dead wrong category. This was a big surprise and a great effort on both ends of the floor by BU. A complete demolition, and yes, Lowery was very much outcoached. However, if we lay an egg in both roadies coming up, this will be for naught. We need this effort each and every game. We must win at least one of the next two.

Nobody that has been down on BU has been wrong CHitown. We haven't looked good. Today we did. I hope we can keep it up. All around great effort. Go BU.
