CollegeHoops.net Top 144 countdown

That's right ISU was picked to be 7th in the Valley with Indiana State 8th.

Their list of #145 through #336 is also due out soon.

(ps----Macabre Mob, you are about to be officially eliminated from the Pick-em!)

Or win it.

I hope I am wrong. I recall wanting to select somewhere in the early-mid 90's but it was already taken.... so I went for the lowest triple digit.

The next round of picks are announced:

#104 Boston College
#103 South Alabama
#102 UC-Santa Barbara

By the way, BC is picked to be 10th in the Big East, so expect a whole bunch of Big East teams to come.

Isn't BC in the ACC? Or was I on vacation for too long?

The next couple teams have been revealed:

#107 DePaul (picked 13th in the Big East!)
#106 Baylor (they were 4-12 in a pretty weak Big XII last year!)
#105 Illinois-Chicago (I have my doubts that the additions of Billy Baptist and a couple freshmen can compensate for losing Othyus Jeffers)

Comical actually for UIC to be ranked higher than ISU. At best it's comical. I expect ISU to beat them by a wide margin when they trek to Normal this season.

I nominate Othyus Jeffers for some sort of Name of the Year Award in NCAA athletics. It's a great name.

Cincinnati was terrible last year, but CHN has them picked to do a little better this year, as the next couple picks are revealed:

#101 Loyola (Maryland)
#100 Arizona State
#99 Cincinnati (11-19, 2-14 in the Big East) they are picked 12th in the Big East this year.
I am frankly amazed at this guy's assessment of Cincinnati. I am hardly an expert but I did spend a little time last year following Cincy because Marcus Sikes, a Bradley recruiting target, turned down BU and went to Cincinnati.
Sikes, in his first year there was arguably one of their best 2-3 players averaging 10 points/5 rebounds per game.
He was 3rd in playing time, and actually hit a surprising 45% (31-69) on 3-pointers in the Big East.

But here is all they have to say about Sikes, as if he isn't worth a mention!
"Marcus Sikes will feel the biggest pinch from the newcomers up front. While he can play the three and four spots, Sikes will probably spend his senior year coming off the bench. He is not a great shooter, but was the best on the team last year from beyond the arc."

I'm hoping DePaul can get Kobe Obi enrolled.
