Donivine Stewart: "I meant it!"

Though he's a freshman and has a lot to learn, we have our PG for the future - and one more true PG than we had last season. Dodie did a nice job to transition to that position, but I will feel more comfortable with DS taking the reigns.

Any news/rumors on Remy?
edit: not to take away from these guys, its great, but now my mind focuses on the last worry.

There are two keys early for Coach Ford.. making sure DSE comes back.. and locking up Abell. He is the key to the recruiting class.

I would bank on it too.
DSE is stronger, probably quicker, and plays solid D whenever he's on the court. From what I've heard from posters, DS doesn't always play his hardest..but that was in HS, and I'm sure he'll want to do everything he can to win for Peoria and BU.
Little Brave simply not true about DS not playing hard. I saw him for 4 years and he gave it his all. The problem was he and his Rocket teammates didn't play any defense. Make that zero defense. What DS will probably struggle with when he gets to the hilltop is on the defensive end of the court. Limestone played strickly zone once the other team got the ball across half court. Bottom line its not fair to say he didn't play hard all the time. Just not true.

being a bit more experienced and alerady a year of juco -- I think Sean Harris would be awesome to get -- I hope Geno is on it as we speak

No disrespect to the others in the class. Heck, I want all 4. After talking to Setty at the All-Star game Saturday, I am really like the potential & explosiveness of Abell. But I agree Harris also intrigues me. Although there is no telling how long it will take to knock off the rust after his mission.

I get the feeling, from reading the articles and watching the recent videos, that the team is planning on staying together. The three that I wonder about are MK, AT and AD. We haven't seen AD play so it's impossible to judge whether he'd want to stay or go. I'd like to see both AT and MK stay, I think both have the potential to do better in a different offensive system, I want to see AT running to the basket and not being asked to set screens out at the 3 point. I want to see if MK can actually shoot as good as Dave Snell keeps telling us he can ;) I remember one game last year, Dave said he made 20 shots in a row during a pre-game shoot-a-round...we need to see this in an actual game...come on MK, show us what you got...of course he has to play more than a few minutes for it to happen. Maybe they all play a little bit looser with a new coach. We get the 4 recruits and I think we've got a solid team which can make some noise...I sense the players know they can do better next season...there's some history to be made next season...if I were a recruit, I'd want to be a part of it. Thanks DS!

I have talked to AD, and he wants to stay and play for the new coach. I believe MK and AT do, too, though I have not spoken to them. They are all disappointed Jim Les is gone, but they realize they have no control over it now, and want to move ahead with what is best for their academic and athletic careers.

Did you ask them that specifically or are you just assuming?

Between the ones I talked to, their tweets and private communications, and what others who are close to the players have told me I can say there is not a single member of the team that isn't very upset and disappointed this move was made.
But I believe they will get past it and the new coach appears to be a big step in the right direction.

No pjstar link = cannot be true. All those players came to Bradley and most have been here for several years despite hating Jim Les and thinking he was a terrible coach. How could they possibly be disappointed Les is gone?

(Sarcasm)

Through personal communication I can testify that all the players are very upset and saddened by the loss of their coach....
one so much so - that he never had a single thought of staying aorund and has already left.....
..for anyone to even question that or deny it simply doesn't have a clue how close a team grows to their coach in that kind of setting...they would have given anything for Coach Les to remain...
but as Da Coach said..they all want to look at their current options, and for many staying here is an attractive choice with the hiring of Coach Ford.

I don't doubt any of this for one second. Silly that some here would question it.

...and Coach Ford somewhat mentioned returning players today on 1470. He said they need kids who WANT to be here.

Losing your coach is hard, no doubt about it. I suspect most of the team will be back. Those who aren't, aren't.

Coach Ford has to work with who is on hand.

It may not be fair - but don't shoot the messenger, man. I was just expressing that other posters have brought this up - I've never seen the kid play.
But then you mentioned above that HE and his teammates didn't play any defense, so what does that tell me? I can't make the connection between that statement and , "he gave it his all".

I appreciate you clarifying this so that I get your view on DS, as you personally saw him play. I won't make any speculations about him until I see him on the court in a BU uni.
