Egolf

I might agree if I thought we were seeing the best WE has to contribute. However, we have seen much better play from Will, and he is probably our best big. He needs to start, and he needs to play better. I think we'll see him have a good game Wednesday.

I might be wrong.....but BU does not have a dunk this season? They tried an ally-oop to WL in one of the 1st games and he was fouled.....no one else has a dunk....WE tried one but ended up short on the front of the rim.

We tried that once this year :(

I keep hoping to see the Will "that finishes plays with dunks" to show up.

Yeah - where did he run off to?
I've only seen him in 1 game this season (vs. NIU) and he looked decent on both ends. I guess he hasn't been impressive in other games from what people are saying. When he DID come off the bench in that game, I saw a little fire in him.
We all know he is capable of playing like he did vs. the Salukis in Carbondale last season. He needs to get tough and impose his...WILL on the court.

Will can play better, and we're very, very thin up front. I don't see any other options.

I think you are right. Prosser will be a great option once he get a little more experience...he looks like a 10ppg/10rpg player in the near future.

I don't think starting WL makes sense right now. He is an excellent spark off the bench a la Will Franklin from that 2005-2006 team, and I don't want to lose that.

We need Will to be good for us to be good. It is that simple.

He is very skilled and athletic. He just seems to get caught flat footed too often on both ends. He tends to react rather than anticipate.

I feel like Coach Les is going to make his mark this season with his ability (or inability) to get through to Will.

JP and AT seem to be making progress and that is good. WE needs to step up, so whatever it takes to motivate him to do that...I am all for it.

I'd like to see:

SM
WL
AW
JP
WE

This is the exact lineup I posted in another thread. Maybe not for the whole year, but lets give the freshman an opportunity to get some minutes and really see what we're going to get out of them and give JP some real experience, I still contend this year that he could be the x-factor in our season.

Egolf had a one handed slam on a rebound.
Will has all the potential to be very good , he needs to quit committing stupid fouls, also it would help if we did not have him setting screens 22 ft. from the basket.
I would start:
S.M.
A.W.
W.L.
J.P.
W.E.
I would also use Will and J.P. in a high post low post offense as they can be more effective if we keep them on the block, Will has proven he can score in the low post and high post, it is only a matter of time when J.P. starts scoring inside as he knows how to get himself open down low, our guards are good enough to be able to screen for each other and also beat their man off the dribble to get good shots, if we expect our big men to contribute as far as rebounding and scoring we need to keep them inside.

I like this line-up (as I've stated), because it does give will the flexibility to go out of the paint for some jumpers occasionally. But I agree, he needs to realize his bread and butter is staying in the key.

I think I remember a tip dunk by either Will or JP...possibly in the TAMUK game. Anybody else remember this??? Or am I losing my mind again?
