Embarrassed

How many years will it take:? In school they called them slow learner's. I don't think it's a case of JL being a slow learner just a small player coach and can't being himself to change:roll: I don't care how many big men he recruit, he will only play one at a time:roll:

Do you REALLY think our big men can hold a candle to ISU's OoB? It would not have mattered if JL played WE, SS and AT at the same time. Those "men" that ISU has would have still handed our guys their @ss.

We are what we are....a middle of the road team. Someone on one of the boards said that this game could be a microcosm of the kind of team we are. I think it was.

We showed flashes of brilliance and determination and then let that slip away. We have been up and down all season. This game was the season in a nut shell...brilliant one second and then stagnant the next! Maybe all of those sport writers who don't follow the Valley, but picked us to finish 6th, know more than we the fans do!

We played better defensively, but in crunch time we could not make the plays. They did. Right now, as it stands, I don't see this team doing much of anything down in St. Louis. I can see us having a good game and then completely collapsing in the next. IMO, I don't think we can win a 3 day tourney, especially when we have not really been able to string together many back to back good games!

BTW, Sam M. played very well tonight but was left hanging by his teammates in the end. Everyone knew we were going to him late in the game, including ISU and nobody else on BU stepped up to make the plays!

Not going to beat anyone when you give up 17 offensive rebounds

Your right and I agree:!: And why doe's it happen:doubt: Out maned under the basket, period:!: They played two bigs and attacked the boards with both plus one more:!: Thats 3 to 1 BU big player and I will take those odds anytime of getting the rebound:!::p This small ball is not going to yield us anything but a 4-6, maybe lower and is just plain BS:confused::mad:

I was talking to Coach Mo just a week or so. He said that any league such as ours its really tough to find a big man just cause they are either really good or they just are D1 potentialy good. We basically found a needle in a haystack with POB when he was here.... That is WHY our league will always be a guard league...

We dont need POB we need better than Sam Singh

Mo found competent bigs, and had success even when he all he had were physical, bruising forwards.

But I don't agree on league affiliation mattering. POB was a fluke ending up here. . .same thing with the possibility of Wilkins. But you see good centers across the mid-major level every year.

Ok, well then our guards aren't good enough and our bigs aren't even serviceable. If we can't even get the guard part right, what are we doing?

And it doesn't take POB to win in the MVC, nor does it take an NBA player. Countless teams have shown us that since 1996.

I don't know where you watched the game or if you listen to it. But what I saw was three of their players going to the boards against SS or WE! Your right, those men looked pretty good when its 3 to 1. Maybe if we played 2 bigs we still might of got beet, but for gods sake man, at lease try to make a game out of it and even the odds the best you can:!: Sorry B4L but you make it sound as if ISU bigs are the best in the league and unstoppable:!: If that is the case wouldn't their record reflect it. Sorry but we are not giving our selfs the best chance to win by getting killed on the boards and playing small:!::mad: My opinion friend :| Been going on year after year, just BS in my book:rolleyes::mad:

I don't care who you are. If you only score 6 points in the last 9 1/2 minutes of the game YOU WILL LOSE.We started going to much one on one instead of looking for the good shot. At the end of the game we panicked.

At least POB had MS and Boogie to help:!: I am not going to point the finger at SS or WE:!:

They have Taylor Brown. He's bigger and better than Lawrence Wright. We had an NBA center, a Big Ten power forward, and a couple of JUCO rebounders off the bench. I mean we tried to get some frontcourt depth; we went out and got Salley, Egolf, Thompson, Collins, Austin, and Wilson. It just didn't work out. It was a failure. Unfortunately in this line of work, that big of a failure usually ends up in people losing their jobs. It sucks that so much that's out of one's control directly affects their job, but that's what these guys sign up for when they decide to be Division I coaches.

Agreed and there was over 6 minutes in that same time frame we didn't score a point:oops:

Waiting for the spin and excuses for this one. Not from the staff or the players; they may be bad but they don't sugar coat or make excuses. But others can find every reason on Earth why this was OK. Waiting for that!

Yup...but there's 100 reasons why it's OK...don't worry, they're coming.

You're not going to hear excuses or reasons from me.

I'm ticked off just like everyone else!

What happens or should I say what does not happen in that locker room at half time:doubt::roll: We come out again, as in most games this year and let the other team go on a big run in the first 2 to 3 min's. Tonight it was a 10 to 2 run in the first 3 min's:!::roll: If we even play them even in that time frame, we win:?::?:?

but it does take some guards that can SHOOT ala crouch or guards that are over 6 ft tall so then they can see half way better of what the defense is going to possibly do... Thats why in football for an example you want a taller QB just so he can see what is going on

Well, I have two questions -

1. Who brought in these guards? Not sure the size of the guards is the issue, but rather how good they are and how well they're being taught.

2. Drew Brees is 5'11", so is it really necessary to be tall?
