Have to give DSE and Walt some rest in this one to keep them fresh. Both played 39 minutes against the deadbirds, and 32 and 31 minutes against WSU.

giving up already....?

Getting DSE and Walt more rest does't mean giving up. Figuring out how to do that and stay competitive is why Geno gets paid the big bucks.

I don't think we are going to win, but that doesn't mean I don't want to or think we shouldn't try.

Resting both your starting guards isn't giving up?

If I'm Coach Ford, I play the first half as I would normally, but if in the second I'm losing by 15+ with 15 minutes left, or 10+ with 10 minutes left, I clear the bench final score be ****ed because the odds are too steep and we have a very winnable game coming up in 3 days. I'll take 1-1 this week in a heartbeat, and the realistic path there is beating Evansville. We can't go into that game with Walt and DSE playing 39 minutes back to back. Worst case scenario is we're competitive in Omaha to the final buzzer and lose.

Hopefully guys develop and we have a deeper rotation to speak of in the future, but with the bench drop off what it is now you have to micro manage minutes and pick your battles. I think and hope Geno understands this.

Or maybe if Coach Ford is you???
I think GF would not "clear" the bench but slowly transition into playing the main bench players. It would probably be a 20+ point deficit with 10 minutes to play though, judging by what I've seen him do.

I'm hoping our style of play resembles that of when we play at home. We just look completely different on the road in the Valley.
I see this coming down to 3-pointers - containing DM means there will be many wide open looks from overhelping, unless WE and TP stay out of foul trouble. It will be real difficult for our bigs to score and defend down low with Echenique and McDermott.

My feeling is we stay fairly close (within 12 or so for the first 30 minutes) and then they pull away for a 20-point win. And I wouldn't be all that disappointed with that as long as we don't get too fatigued for the big home games next week.

Tough matchup again for the Braves and we'll need to hit some 3's in this one.

BU has a tough finish in the Valley. I predict they go 2-6 in the final 8 MVC games to sneak into a 7th place finish.

BU beats SIU by 10 points in the 7-10 game and they get beat by 20 points in the quarterfinal game vs. CU or WSU.

If I were a betting man, I would make this bet...... Woody my friend - RIP !!!

RIP WOODY!!! He was a great guy Rick, and that's coming from a someone who only met him a couple of times but heard tons of stories.

I would like to know which games you think BU will win in those final 8 MVC games. Home games I'm assuming?

LOL I can assure you I am not Coach Ford. I've got more hair, but that's about where the comparison ends.

**** it, clear the bench. Yes, that means Milos time. You don't want the 6, 7 and 8 men logging more minutes than they're used to, even if it's not all that much.

I'd agree the road game efforts looked bad so far but they were mostly without Egolf. The team is substantially improved home or away with him. I didn't see E-ville or WSU, but from what I gather, E-ville was close until the closing minutes and WSU just came on fire in the second half and Geno made early substitutions to let it get away (which I agree with).

Yes the necessary help means we'll be at the mercy of Creighton's shooting, which can be streaky. I watched them miss everything against Drake, but they were hitting them all vs SIU. Let's hope it's the former, and like ISU Red they're dumb enough to settle for outside shots instead of pounding it into their all-MVC forward to force Egolf to the bench.

11-7 in conference. Pretty GOOD based on the past 10 years of Valley play... I would say

What is the problem people?

Drake is capable of playing terribly...I am not phased by their CU win.
