Bradley is coming off a road win at SIU and a home win against Drake.
Wichita State was picked 4th in the MVC preseason poll (behind Creighton, ISU, and UNI), while Bradley was picked 9th (ahead of SIU).
Preseason Poll- http://www.mvc-sports.com/mbasketba...creighton-picked-to-win-mvc-basketball-title/

Wichita State will be without 3 of their starters. They are without their leading scorer and rebounder 6'8" senior Carl Hall (13.9 ppg, 7.6 rpg) who broke his thumb Dec 17 in a practice, and had surgery on Dec 18. He had a brace removed yesterday, but he will be out for a couple more weeks. WSU is 4-0 since Hall's injury, as other players have stepped up.
They are also without 6'3" freshman guard Ron Baker who started their first 10 games of the season and who was averaging 7.3 ppg and is out with a stress fracture in his foot until early February, and 6'5" sophomore guard Evan Wessel who started their first 8 games and was averaging 5.5 ppg and is out several more weeks with a broken finger on his right hand.

They are starting a lineup of:
6'8" Junior Cleanthony Early- 13.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg
7'0" senior Ehimen Orukpe- 3.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg
6'0" senior guard Malcolm Armstead- transfer from oregon averaging 8.4 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and a team-leading 3.4 assists per game,m and 36.7% on threes
6'2" senior guard Demetric Williams- 8.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.7 apg, and 35% from three
6'2" sophomore Tekele Cotton- 5.7 ppg, 3.8 ppg

They also get significant contributions from-

6'8" sophomore forward Jake White- 3.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg
5'11" freshman point guard Fred Van Vleet- 3.1 ppg, 1.8 apg

Does ESPN3 carry the game as well?
I think that ESPN3 is actually WatchEspn.com now.
Anyone know for those who don't get ESPNU?

Here is the schedule for ESPN3 (WatchESPN.com) for Sunday, Jan. 6-
http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index#type/upcoming/startDate/20130106/

It lists Wichita State at Bradley, but then says it is "blacked out" wherever it is not available on ESPNU. Unfortunately, it is available on ESPNU in the entire US, so it will be blacked out everywhere.-

Get to a sports bar or grill and watch it there!

I always seem to miss the Wichita game at Carver. :(
Hopefully I can check it out, but the timing is not very good.
4:30 is a bad time IMO.

I'm pretty sure ESPN3 and WatchESPN are separate. WatchESPN requires access from your cable provider for viewing on your mobile devices, while ESPN3 allows anyone with internet access.

I'm glad I've got ESPNU though to watch it on my big screen.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Perfect early test for BU to play a top MVC team at home early in the conf season. I wish WE would be in the lineup, but that's already been beaten to death in other threads. We'll soon know how good BU is going to fare against the big boys this year.

This game is very interesting to me because I can't decide what I think will happen. Will the Braves come out and play inspired basketball the way that they did against Michigan and make this a great game, or will it look more like the game against WSU in Peoria last year?

Gary - my prediction is that we will hold our own and be in this game - mostly because we have the athleticism to match what the Shox will be able to put on the floor --
were they completely healthy, I think we'd be in trouble - but I think this is a game we can win or lose depending on how the shots go down...

I'm really excited. It's on channel 396 in the Villages so we'll get to see it. Can't wait ,go Braves shock the Shockers.

I'm looking for JC to get back as the X factor on the team. He had a pretty solid start but has tailed off a bit.
If we are to have a shot at Shockin' the Shox, guys like Crawford, Shayok, Bell, and even Wells are gonna' have to step it up, especially with their defense and not making mental errors.

Wichita is very athletic. We need to exceed their intensity and match their toughness.
Let's hang with 'em til halftime and see what happens!

So now I'm a little confused. ESPN3 is blacked out, but it appears that WatchESPN has ESPNU over the internet. True?

Anyone see the Michigan-BU game on WatchESPN by chance?

I managed to, although I had to hook up the Xbox because WatchESPN wouldn't work on the computer for some reason.

To win this one BU will have to score around 65 points, be even with WSU in the rebound column (limiting their 2nd chances), play 40 minutes of intense D, value every possession (limit TOs to around 4-6). I can't see WSU pressing us because of their limited bench, they do like to play mostly man2man so I can hardly see them playing zone but definitely sagging off. I expect us to play mostly small here and we'll only see Nate if we get into foul problems. It will not be an easy game but we're playing at home and WSU is banged up, so this is winnable if BU plays like a team. Go Braves!

Would like BU to win, but, more interested in seeing Braves play hard and smart for 40 min, and hound WSU to death on defense.

This is within BU players' control, no matter how good WSU is.

+1 Pretty much how I feel about the whole season.
