Future BU opponents' non-conference schedules

Considering these decisions are made 3-4 years in advance, well, yeah. Wichita got in frankly on the strength of the '06 season. Maui is an animal upon itself.

That was a mighty good squad back in '05-'06. And we almost beat them 3 times! (wasn't that the year that D-Ruff hit a 3 that sent the game into O.T.?) I thought they'd be back to the tourney the following seasons, but they folded somehow.
At least they're back to where they want to be and will hopefully represent the Valley well in this tournament.

Looks like isu has landed another home game......

Nov. 17 vs. Tennessee State

....and the beat goes on.......

Hey! They're movin' up! A team that nearly reached 10 wins last year!
Should be a nice tune-up for their other stellar non-conf. games.

Geat to see MVC teams getting opportunities to play with the big boys this coming year...:D

Time for the Valley to put up or shut up!

More info revealed on ISU's schedule.....some of this was possibly known...

There's a Thanksgiving, 4-team, 3-games each, round robin tourney again for ISU in Normal,
hosting .....
Jacksonville State (11-19), UL-Monroe (12-19), South Dakota (leaving D-II currently in an effort to transition to D-I)...
(last year's records in parentheses)

deja vu....this is the 3rd year of such a 4-team Thanksgiving tourney...the prior years hosting...
2008 - Nicholls State, Winston-Salem State, UC Santa Barbara
2009 - SEMO, Norfolk State, St. Bonaventure

You're right..but check their schedule.....
just how many 300+ RPI opponents is one team allowed to have??
It appears South Dakota had 20 opponents at 300 or higher and four more that were D-II's, plus two more than were 275+!

Pretty unavoidable when you're in the Great West and a DII transitional. And it's not like ISU's opponent's SoS can't be torpedoed any further.

Lisbeth Salander. Wouldn't want to date her but would love to date her....ya know what I mean? :)

Thankfully I live in a city with GREAT independent/art movie theatres. Saw the second this past weekend. Better than the first (as was the book).

Now back to your regularly scheduled post.

Commercial break...Thanks for the update for the 2nd movie. The authors real life is also a bit strange and he wrote the story to be one whole book but the publisher made him break it up. His brother and father who he had no relationship with have taken legal custody of the movie rights from his long time live in girlfriend who helped him write it. I really do not see how the USA version of the movie will be better and on Lisbeth yea she's hot in a nasty good way.

Nebraska has released their entire schedule for their final year in the Big 12...

and I really had to laugh....it appears as though they made every effort to schedule the entire SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference)!!

Now, first, be it known that the SWAC is BY FAR the worst and weakest conference in D-I basketball...(not counting the independents and the D-II transitionals)
Their conference RPI is fully 50% below the next weakest conference (the MEAC)..
that same difference - (a 50% difference in RPI) encompasses the entire top 16 conferences.

In other words, the 16th ranked MAC with it's RPI of .4744 is within 50% of the ACC (.9007 - all numbers per Pomeroy)
and thus closer to the #1 spot, than the SWAC at #32 is to the next conference above them, the MEAC.

But Nebraska not only schedules Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Jackson State, Alcorn State, and Grambling -- they also threw in North Dakota, Savannah State, Eastern Washington, and South Dakota!!!
Honestly, this schedule is NOT going to prepare them for the Big 12 season....

But year after year we've seen that they play a whole different brand of b-ball once the B-12 season starts. Oh, yeah - they'll be ready! :-o

Patrick Marshall of Creighton's "White and Blue Review" says that SIU will open the season playing at Illinois.
He lists plainly that SIU is at Illinois on Nov. 14...
http://whiteandbluereview.com/?page_id=293#schedule

now the link he gives supporting this game is to an article dated April 22 hinting that such a game was something that Lowery wanted but was pending...
http://thesouthern.com/sports/article_c86fbc92-4dcc-11df-bd87-001cc4c002e0.html

..I can't say that I know this to be in error, but I highly suspect that it is...since nobody - not even ONE person from SIU has mentioned any such thing, even though they're all buzzing about playing Purdue in the Chicago Classic..

So can anyone else confirm this that the Salukis play at Illinois this year??
I have to remain doubtful since not one mention of such a game can be found on any of the 4 different Illinois message boards, or the Saluki message board or either team's official site.
