Did they say on the post game what zone they were playing? It looked more like a 1-3-1 at times but at one point in was strung out like a 1-2-1-1 (more like a diamond and one if a full court press). It was awkward, but obviously affective. It looked like a zone specifically for a team like UNI that heavily relies on the three point shot.

Just saw this post. I posted something similar in another thread. I am intrigued to know just what kind of zone we were running and how it operates.

There wasn't much discussed about it, but in his postgame press conference, Geno briefly said they played more than 1 type of zone and switched them up.
I thought it was predominantly a 2-3, but at times looked like 1-3-1.

I told my wife they were in 1-3-1 out of a timeout, but once the ball went to the opposite side, it looked more like a traditional 2-3. Whatever it was, for that game, it worked.

Oh T, it is for the edge of your seat chance...yes the chance to see a promotion that can top Basketball Bowling! Sadly Basketball Bowling was only a time out promotion, but I think it needs to be expanded for quality halftime entertainment. Come on guys, we have a giant scoreboard, let's get some use out of it!

It looked to me like a 2-3 with a lot of rotation and heavy emphasis on guarding the perimeter players.

gerry - just how many capable players are out there that we can get to play in fall of 2012 ?
I think it could be a step backwards to lose that many players - and we'd have the kind of chaos they have at SIU with 4 and 5 new players changing over and nobody staying more than 1 or 2 years before leaving...

The real future should include getting what we can for next year - but really going hard for the talent that's available for fall of 2013....
We will have at least 4 or 5 or more rides for 2013 but if we tie some of them up with marginal 2012 signees, then we simply have more people going to be riding the bench...

This is the practical side of the argument, and it makes alot of sense. I think there are a couple of people who should look for opportunities elsewhere if they want PT, and one was a late signee... Then again one I believe was the first player to sign in the the class of 2011. But the point is, new bodies aren't neccesarily better bodies. Geno needs to get solid contributors in and if they aren't out, bank the 'ship.

The pragmatic side of the argument is that any player who has been given a scholarship, works hard to improve, and maintains his grades, whether we crack the rotation or not, should be allowed and encouraged to stay at BU until they complete their degree.
 
every team has players sitting the bench, not playing much at all, not very productive by some standards..but who will blossom - let's not give up on 'em yet...

remember a guy who played just 11 minutes per game as a freshman, didn't look particulary awesome - in fact looked terrible at times,
shot only 16% from 3-pt range, only 57% on FT's, and averaged a meager 3 ppg?? Even Sam Singh's numbers dwarfed his production...
but now, Taylor Brown is one of the best 2 or 3 players in the entire league...

All promotions should be just that, halftime entertainment, if you can call most of them entertainment.

The problem is Bradley has a lot of sponsors who give money with the expectation that something will be done during the game to promote them. There isn't enough time at halftime to do all of the promotions.

And if you said at the end of his freshman year that TB would be 1st team candidate in his 3rd season, and that he'd be sitting out his entire junior year, I'da said, T, you're hilarious!!!

I know. But it bugs me when some say the crowd isn't boisterous enough and it's hard to be boisterous during the promotions.

I do like it that the scoreboards actually tell the crowd to stand up and make noise during the game more recently. That makes a LOT more sense.
