JC To Be On Bench, Eastman off Redshirt

I was thinking the same thing. All of a sudden we're down to 5 guards and some people think one of them should have his minutes cut down until he starts to produce.

Does that matter when he's still gonna try to play 4 at a time?

IF he were smarter, which he obviously isn't, he would go bigger...

Just about everyone with two good eyes would notice that this team is not and should not be taking more 3's...

Look at both Will's and Taylor's shooting percentages and notice why we should be playing inside/out and not the other way around like we have been for 8 years now.

This may be considered a guards game, but if you have the horses, you can ride them to the dance...just look at most of the recent champs...most worked their games inside/out which free's the shooters...

And for the love of all that is sacred, quit bringing our centers 30 ft from the basket to handle the ball and set screens...and from that point, how about we have more than 1 guy on the floor try setting screens...its not that difficult, its something most learn in JV ball. You don't understand what I am talking about, watch Butler.

Think of how much better Maniscalco would be without having to create his own shots.

5 guards left, 3-4 on the floor at the same time...hmm...yeah, guys playing 35+ is not a great plan...

Also- DSE is expected to miss about 4-6 weeks with a stress reaction in his foot...

Kyle Vogt is gonna be interim assistant, JC will join the staff and Jake Eastman will come off redshirt...
Here comes #14 to the rescue! He needs to spend some quality time w/ Eastman to work on that shot. With Edwards out, we need some O baby

Sorry to hear about DSE, he was playing really good, I kind of agree with those who say don't RS him because we might need him towards the end of February and into March. But I don't know the extent of the injury or how it heals.

Regarding JE, I hope he sees some of DSE's minutes tonight and doesn't sit. If you're bringing him off the RS, throw him out there and let's see what he has got, and tell him to pop a couple three's when he's open. This game would be just as good as any to see what he has. Who knows what we've got, we don't know yet. Go Braves!

I think our starters are what they should be, as CR TB WE are a little shorter than what you would like from the 3, 4, 5 positions, but all make up for it with their athleticism in terms of length and jumping ability, which is an underrated factor when judging heights. A guy can be 7 foot but when a 6'8" guy can jump higher than him does it matter? As far as playing four guards at a time, that needs to stop, I completely agree there. I think it worked so well the year after the sweet sixteen Jim kinda fell in love with it. I would like to try to get WE at the four with either SS or AT in there at the 5 at times in a game, but this shouldn't be our core lineup because AT has not showed the ability to play consistently in key minutes yet, and SS will always just be a big body guy to put in to mix it up with other big guys. Plus I'm not sure about TB being able to handle the ball like a 3 guard nor what CR's abilities to handle the ball at a 2-guard spot would be as a backup to AW in that lineup.

My post from Thread, JC Wow, 03-27-08

JC will get a shot at the NBA! This guy now has it all. He is 6-5, can handle the ball, shoot the lights out, drive to the hoop, great passer and and is scared of nobody anymore! This guy has the heart and motivation to move up. I would love to see him someday on the BU bench showing young players the way to play and become great people

I would like to add something I left out back then. That is JC has one of the highest BB IQ of all the players I have watched and listen to at BU. A lot of credit for it goes to his grandpa:!::D Help us out JC:!::D:D

I like this post and it makes a whole lot of sense...You're right. Spell some guys and play Will some at the 4.

Also, I would like to see Taylor handle the ball more as he desperately needs more touches and I can learn to live with some turnovers given his ability to pull up and shoot or drive the ball to the goal with great success.

Finally, C-Rob is one of if not our best ball handler and passer...he needs the ball more as well and they need to tell him to take it to the rim as he needs to be at the line for 5+ FT a game (the Theron Wilson rule).

And yeah, to continue what you said and harp again on what I already did, no more 4 guards same time...its a really REALLY bad plan!

Ya I definitely think TB should get a shot at the 3, I meant just not at the key points. His turnovers don't bug me as much because he makes up for it with 4 or 5 good plays everytime. As far as CR, his ball handling seems to have improved so much from last year. You are right there, I can't remember too many times of him making dribbling mistakes even compared to our point guards. I guess after reading your post and thinking about it more, I would not mind CR playing the 2 after all!:-D I guess we agree a lot on these issues!

You also predicted something about the NBA in that thread...;)

I think JC will do a very good job. He will be a good mentor for JE.

"To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."

Watched and listen to this again last week:) Don't know how meny times this makes but I always go away with the same deep feeling in my gut:)

Back on 7/21/09 i asked the board about the rumor of JC coaching at BU, I thought then that the source was not very reliable. However it turns it out he knew what he was talking about.

Welcome back JC !!!!

hopefully dse will recovery quickly or redshirt. I hope to see some minutes from JE tonight.

I not sure what the quote of SLB is suppose to mean, "I", nor what this has to do with the thread but I also love that speech, and it has some of my favorites quotes! I think that speech could potentially take someone through all 3 of those itself. Jimmy V was an awesome guy!

Welcome to MY world.....:)

I don't even like to use the word "source" though....it sounds like I have some inside information when I don't.

Just some dumb luck and some guys I pay real well to keep their eyes open.

:)
