Kavanagh has left Bradley

Let's just leave this as Chico said. This happens in every job. You give your notice and the next thing you know you are being shown the door by a security guy! There are always changes in new administrations due mostly to management philosophy and personality differences. It is never usually never about right or wrong.

The Prez has a pretty strong personality love or hate it, she is in charge.

I hope this has no baring on JL!

I would imagine that the new AD will evaluate Les and every other coach Bradley has. If they are seen to be the best fit for the job, then they stay. IMO I dont think there is anyone better for the job then Les, so I am not too worried. Unless the new AD decides that Les isn't "his guy" and wants to be in control of who is coaching BU's flagshipsport.

I would caution anyone to consider that whatever rumors they are hearing, there is a lot of stuff circulating that isn't accurate. I personally have heard numerous different stories many of which are mutually exclusive.

It doesn't surprise me that KK is no longer AD effective immediately. The prez seems to be the type that wants people in charge who are 100% committed to Bradley and not going to another job. I think the MVC softball tournament is giving a great opportunity for Virnette to show why she should be the new
AD. She is very well liked and respected in the BU athletic department. Virnette and the prez also have a great relationship which I don't believe the prez had with KK. Though I believe the prez would hire the best person for the job I think the prez can also see an opportunity to do a historic hire, the first woman and black person to be AD at Bradley. I might be biased since I know and like Virnette I think she would be an outstanding representative and AD at BU.

I agree with you. Les is the right guy for Bradley. The only other coach who is untouchable is baseball coach Elvis Dominguez.

There's no reason to can him now, but 4 years ago, there was no reason to keep him.

That said, both the guy who got him the job (Broski) and his immediate supervisor from Day 1 (Kavanagh) are both gone.

Very true. Its amazing what a 7 foot lottery pick can do for a coach. Do you think Coach Les siill sends him a Christmas card?

PLEASE, LET'S NOT GO THERE:!: I don't think either of the two should or will be on the qualification list:!: Best Qualified Person, Please Queen Prez:!:

Wow... sounds like someone just can't wait for WMcC's chance at the head basketball job at Bradley. Now we know why he never left UIUC. He's just sitting back and waiting. And after another Final 4 run by UIUC that they are supposed to make in the next couple years... yea, WMcC will look like a great hire.

Kirk's suggestion that it is not unusual for an employee to be relieved of his duties after they acquire another job, may be true in business and industry, but it is very uncommon in this circumstance. It is more likely the case that an outgoing AD would help with the transition, especially in this case since Bradley is hosting the MVC softball tournament this weekend, and things are very busy and would benefit from the presence of the AD. Ken had intended to stay and fulfill his duties at Bradley until the end of his contract.

As I said above- PM me if any Bradley fan wants to know more.

Not quite sure what you are saying.....Les recruited him and POB along with the rest of the team had an amazing NCAA run. I would hope he sends cards to ALL the players on the team not the ONE guy who had a very good game vs Pitt.

You mean the same way she was 100% committed to her last job? The majority of ADs, unless they are at Duke and other big schools, are usually looking to move up and the same goes for most college presidents. Please don't start the historic nonsense. Pick the best choice after a search.
