Effective this morning, Ken Kavanagh is no longer associated with Bradley University. I look for him to begin at FGCU sooner than the date in the paper this morning.

And that translates to this morning, sure seems like breaking news to me.

Happens in many work places, not just to ADs. KK did a lot for BU and was well rewarded for it. What's wrong with wanting to start on the job earlier than later. Not much more he could here in the time remaining. Good luck Ken.
 
What I think is funny is.... there are 3 other threads regarding KK leaving and taking the job at FGCU.

But we just had to have this one more thread. :roll:

the headline on my newspaper says this..........

"Kavanagh can??™t wait to leave Bradley for Florida Gulf Coast"

so I guess it actually was right the first time...and so this isn't anything new...

That is a very astute point, tornado. But why then did he not start immediately?
 
wanted some time off or maybe had accumulated a little paid time off or sick leave?
Happens all the time....also maybe the interim AD down at FCGU has been contracted through the end of June...
 
KKs contract with BU ran through May, and as far as I know he intended to honor it. But apparently this morning by mutual agreement, he packed up and left, and is no longer working for Bradley.
 
I am not surprised, given the media attention that this occurred in the manner it did, except for the fact that it happened in the middle of a league tournament. I would have expected it to happen on Monday.

There was much more behind the scenes than has been released publicly, and I just assume morale isn't real strong today amongst the people working the events.

But who knows....
 
Is it Ms. prez that hates KK? If so, can anyone say why? This dancing around the topic is no fun for us "outsiders". What's going on?
 
nobody hates anyone..please stop with such language...
but I suspect the President is ultimately in charge of who is hired and fired, and beyond that I feel quite confident in saying that NOBODY on this board knows all the facts and most know little more than you do B-10

Let's just leave this as Chico said. This happens in every job. You give your notice and the next thing you know you are being shown the door by a security guy!:oops: There are always changes in new administrations due mostly to management philosophy and personality differences. It is never usually never about right or wrong.

The Prez has a pretty strong personality love or hate it, she is in charge.

I hope this has no baring on JL!
