Loyola Marymount at Bradley Game Thread

Good win! Good defense! I think the players are buying in now on that end! Good game for AT and MK! Nice to see WE finally make a big play at the end there with the block. 3-0...can't complain there. Let's win the HOF tourny games this weekend!

What does our crowd look like? I have no video feed. Mr. Snell just informed me that there were people leaving.

People leave at every timeout starting at around the 8 minute mark, regardless of what is happening on the court. If that is the way they enjoy their Bradley basketball, then so be it.

No. Not all AW's fault. LMU made a defensive adjustment on AW at halftime and the BU coaching staff did absolutely NOTHING to help AW out. I can't blame him for being frustrated. It's up to the coaches to find a way to get him open (that or to use him as a decoy).

(

HATER! Like you know more than JL and the coaches! ;-);-);-)

See how it feels?

I thought the 5-second call was bogus -- it even surprised the other two refs.
Our defense was responsbile for a lot of the turnovers, and yes we're playing sloppy, but it happens whan you're forced to make changes and play different players.
We have time to make the corrections...
If we make even half the layups and dunks that we missed, we win by 20!

I will admit , not the best game I've seen worked but don't understand how the 5 second call was bogus. Please explain and also how could you tell the "other two refs were surprised." Just curious. I worked alot of games during my career and wonder if I ever had a curious look on my face regarding someone elses call? Bet not.

For most of the game, I didn't think that the officiating was that bad. There were some blown calls down the stretch, but they seemed consistent.jmho

And, for the record, this game is more painful to watch than sticking a hot poker up my @ss! :( :(

I am a little more on Amckillip's side on this debate.... I wouldn't bench AW for a week, but AW was absolutely out hustled for an easy rebound down the stretch of the game. It was during a critical point in the game and it was embarrassing to watch!

I agree with you. It wasn't a badly called game just not as good as the other two this year. I have seen much worse over the years then that one. As Tornado said if we make our layups, dunks and free throws its no contest.

You guys may not care... but I thought I would share. Steve Whelmer and Ed Hightower did the ISU/TSU game last night and it was SOOOOO refreshing seeing how good officials ref a game. They let them play. Very few fouls called. I do not remember one time I was even close to yelling in disagreement. The TSU bench never seemed to complain either. Neither team was in the bonus until there was less than a minute in the half. Hopefully ISU admin's (and all MVC admin's) take note of this and find a way to pony up more $$ to pay guys like this more often, and less of the Sanzerre's of the world. I don't expect it to happen, but I'd love for it too!

but the refs can definitely take the gas out of a rally or a run by whistling a few ticky/borderline fouls...
In that sense -- sometimes they can determine the outcome regardless of the old adage "the refs don't determine the outcome of a game"

Actually I agree with you... With the exception of the exhibition game, I think that the refs so far have been pretty good.

Sorry T, that doesn't even deserve an answer. I'm speechless and if you ask my friends thats hard to do.

Nacho, couldn't agree with you more. Those are two quality officials. Ed's getting up in age but experience is a great benefit to him. He has been to the mountain and is a great example for young officials to emulate. I to wish the Valley would pony up more money and get the top people available. We can hope but don't hold your breath.

This has been going on his entire career.

I doubt many would agree with me...But if this team had TB, Im not sure AW is even a plus player on this team.

I would rather have sammy dodie and dse playing most of the minutes while grooming walt.

Not an option with TB out...But scorers who don't do much else are role players, not POY candidates.
