Next game- BU at Evansville, Wed. Feb. 25, 7:05 pm

You don't just lose a double-digit scorer on a team that has trouble scoring who's also your best perimeter defend and be OK. I'd love to be peachy-keen and rosey red optimistic but I find it real hard to be at this point. Even the great Bradley Braves can only withstand so many injuries before it catches up with them.

At some point you need to start making your breaks. Never count on luck.

Since when is not getting injured 'luck'? You can assume some injuries here and there, and try and build a deep team, but no team is constructed to lose 3 starters and still be successful. Not one. The only luck involved here is bad luck.

Wow this team really is cursed! An entire starting lineup has been hurt this year..SM,AW,DD,SS,WE...all of them significant names (I actually really like that lineup)

by the way how is SM's foot...I guess no news is good news

17 wins is a must for post season play. I'd really like to have at least that headed to the Friday matinee.

In order to get any "meaningful" postseason play, we'll have to win our last two games to get to 17 before Friday. The NCAA only considers games again D-I opponents and they control the NIT now.

Alright, so the lineup of 1, 2, 4, 5, 12 may not happen tomorrow night for very long then.

The good news? It wasn't Theron. Or Sam Man. Or SS/DC. If DD doesn't play too much, we'll get more consistent PT for Roberts and Norris. That can be a good thing. (And if he's bruised, lets let him heal until the MVC Tourney... these games don't mean much for our seeding!

Don't get me wrong, I love Dodie and am hoping that somehow this all blows over. But of all the positions, at least it's one where we have a little bit of depth..

We have to win one of these games to get the #4 seed, otherwise we could end up as the #6.

If it is not DD's shooting hand I would bet that he'll be in uniform. If it took 3 days for an X-ray it is probably just a small fracture and by taping it up a bit and a shot he should almost as good as before. Let's not get too alarmed here. DD will be able to drive to the basket and play D which are the two qualities he does best. I would hope the non-shooting hand with a shot does nor effect his FT. I broke my non-shooting hand and it did effect my game but we are talking about a player not a YMCA hack like me!

True, that makes me feel a little better. Just nervous this team needs all the bodies it has left and Dodie is a pretty good one.

It is his shooting hand (he missed 3 of 4 FT's after the injury), and I wouldn't count on any good news coming out of this. I am just speculating here, but I would guess that we've seen the last of him for the season, especially since things are so quiet. When is the last time we had any type of injury news go our way?

I hate to be the one to break the news to ya... but Bradley won't be getting an NIT bid.

(unless a bunch of teams prefer to be "home" teams in the other two "meaningless" tournies and Bradley gets offered an interesting road game in the NIT - like at NW'rn or some other winnable BCS school)

All I have to say about this is that Andrew Warren was slated to start the home opener this year, all the way up until took the court in street clothes.

Exactly.

So the local rag should write a "hit piece" over how the coach at the local U is a liar and should be held to a higher standard.

What's wrong with keeping the opposition guessing?

I hope Coach Les says Dodie is done for the season yet Dodie is fine enough to play some and contribute some, though he'll be nursing and playing with an injury (ala JJ).

I'll go out on a limb and guess that Dodie doesn't play tonight.
Just a guess.

I replayed the Loyola game from my DVR. The injury occurred with 38.2 seconds remaining in the game.-
Loyola had already been in their fouling mode for about a minute or more. Then after Loyola made a basket that made the score 81-73, they called a timeout with 42.6 seconds left. After the timeout, Chris Roberts inbounded the ball to Dunson, who dribbled up the right side of the court and was fouled by Loyola guard Aric Van Weelden by bumping him into the table at midcourt where the TV announcers were at with 38.2 seconds remaining. It was not the "scorer's table", which was on the opposite side between the benches. There was nothing malicious about the foul, it was really just a slight bump, but it sent Dodie hard into the table . He put his right hand out to stop himself from falling onto the table, and he came off looking at his right hand because of pain.
Dodie then shot 2 free throws, and missed the first badly. He shook his right hand, then made the second free throw. Loyola then came back and missed a shot, and Dodie got the rebound, and was fouled again. He tossed the ball to the ref, and held his right hand in his left as if was in pain. He missed both of those free throws. He then came out of the game and Sam Singh came in for the last 15 seconds. Dodie sat on the bench holding his right hand. He can be seen going through the postgame handshake line shaking hands with his left hand, not his right.

I'm sorry, gamesmanship is not flat-out lying. You can be deceptive about your team's situation without lying about it. Better to not say anything at all than to come out to the media and say it's a bruise and he should play tonight. If it's more than that and Dodie is in street clothes tonight, Les deserves the flogging from the Urinal star that he'll receive.

If you flog someone enough, they eventually become numb to it. He got flogged for the Ruffin 'deception' (I had no problem with how JL handled it). No one really said much about the Andrew Warren situation, and I doubt anyone says much this time. I've pretty much accepted that it's going to be more Darian Norris and Chris Roberts from here on out. Darian, your table is set.

I've heard from my sources that Dodie will be fine and will play tonight. It's not a broken hand. My source didn't seem to be worried much at all.
