The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (8-1, RPI 156) visits Bradley (8-3, RPI 46) on Saturday at 7:05pm. The game is not on broadcast TV, but is available on BUBraves.tv.
Southern Miss is 8-1, but has played possibly the weakest schedule among Div I schools. They have 8 wins, but 4 of them have been against NAIA schools.
Their 8 wins have all been at home against weaklings Belhaven (a little Div 2 NAIA school), Tennessee-Martin (RPI 289), Alabama State (RPI 257), Spring Hill (another NAIA team!), Sam Houston State (RPI 65!), Savannah State (RPI 272), Southern-New Orleans (yet a 3rd NAIA team on their regular schedule!), and Reinhardt (still yet a 4th NAIA school!!).
Southern Miss's only game away from home, so far, was against Alabama, at a neutral site, where they lost.
This game at Bradley will be their first true road game of the season.
Here are their results--
11/11/06 vs. Belhaven Reed Green Coliseum W, 63-38
11/16/06 vs. Tennessee-Martin Reed Green Coliseum W, 77-67
11/18/06 vs. Alabama State Reed Green Coliseum W, 80-43
11/22/06 vs. Spring Hill Reed Green Coliseum W, 113-57

Their leading scorer at 15.6 ppg is a 6'2" freshman guard, Jeremy Wise. 6'3" sophomore guard, Courtney Beasley, is second with 10.6 ppg. Demar Dotson, a 6'9" juco transfer from Southeastern Illinois CC is tied for the 3rd leading scorer at 9.1 ppg with another freshman, 6'6" guard Sai'Quon Stone. These 4 plus another freshman 6'8" forward Andre Stephens are the likely starters.

Well, if you want some respect, stop trying for the NAIA national championship by playing every weakling NAIA school that owns a bus.
