We were thinking of this-- but we didn't want to get into naming the names of the recruits.
So here is how we'll do the Pickem for a nice prize of a BradleyFans t-shirt and some Bradley memorabilia.--

#1 Pick the next recruit to verbal, without posting his name. Give us the sum of the number of letters in the recruit's last name plus the number of letters in his hometown.
Do not post any names. If you do, your guess will not count.

and as a tiebreaker

#2- name the exact date we hear of the next Bradley recruit committing.

For example-
if you thought Lewis Jackson would be the next Bradley commit, you would guess 14 (7 letters in Jackson and 10 in Decatur) and then the date he will commit.

Well-- the first recruit for 2008 has finally verballed--Eddren McCain. His last name has 6 letters, and his hometown (LaPlace, Louisiana) has 7 letters. His high school is in Reserve, Louisiana, so that has 7 letters, too, and there can be no argument about the sum of the letters. It is 13.

Only 1 person guessed 13--- me.

It seems everyone was planning on Matt Roth or someone else being the next recruit. I was actually guessing someone else (Shelvin Mack of Lexington, KY), but it turns out to match Eddren McCain. And my tiebreaker date was Sept. 24, 14 days off of today's date of Sept. 10. There were several closer dates guessed, including MDCowboy who guessed Sept. 10! Nice guess MDCowboy! Too bad this was just the tiebreaker.

So I guess I am the winner. I usually don't enter these pickems, since I don't want to win and have people think we rigged it! But I never expected to be the only winner. Better luck next time! We'll have to get some other pickems going to get rid of some of the Bradleyfans t-shirts and gifts.
