Fully testing waters?
Here is a new article about the Blazers workout.-
http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/06/paul_allen_on_hand_as_blazers.html
I still would not be surprised to see OE get drafted. He is a natural scorer and who knows maybe he can play D if he has to. This whole undersized statements is blown out of proportion. Speed is a commodity you cannot teach but need at the NBA level. Guess what? OE has it.
I would be shocked beyond shocked if he ever got drafted ever. His game is a dime a dozen and a guy like him can be had as a free agent versus drafting him at any time.
Id rather draft some project in Europe and hide him over there then take a flyer on a guy like OE.
He is a decent player at ISU but put him in the world of pro athletes and bigger, stronger, more athletic players and his game is perfect for where he is at right now ISU. Go back there.
OE is one of the best players in the Valley, with the potential of being a POY candidate. So, what does that say about our guys?
Braves4Life I see you are back to Sasha. She is making a come back!![]()
Hmmmmmmm. No mention of King "O". Guess he wasn't that impressive.
That report about OE is spot on. I feel that he does have NBA talent. There is only one other player right not in MVC that I feel can make it to the next level and that is AW. I believe AW has a bigger upside then OE and if fully recovered he will give OE a run for his money for the POY. There are a few other players but they are a bit young to see how consistent they are and if they have the mental preparation to get there.
On another note the off-season workouts to become an NBA player is very important IMO. Blake Griffen became the dominant player because he worked his tale off to get there. OE and AW can get to the NBA I believe if they are disaplined enough to make the sacrafices needed to get there. That means preparing the body and mind to play hard every minute on the court and to never take a play off. Both players have holes in their game and will need to make up for it by pure determination.
one injury does not make you injury prone.
I guess that broken bone he had in his hand / finger to finish out the 2008 season doesn't count. 8)
Houston we are just going to have to disagree on this one. I believe AW has the talent and one injury does not make you injury prone. I am concerned though but I'll be optimistic about his foot healing completely. AW's game is a lot like AP's and he still has 2 years to prove he can make it. If AW prepares himself both physically and mentally, IMHO he has the talent to take it to the next level.
In all honesty I really do not care what happens to OE and I would love it if he stayed in the draft.
But I am very concerned about Warren and I am concerned directly with his feet. This injury has lingered for nearly 9 months with what 3 separate surgeries. There has been info that he might have broken this bone before in High School. It might just be an issue that simply never goes away.
I think he has great talent but he has sat an entire year of basketball and I just do not beleive you pick it right back up where you left it after a year of little activity.
Champ Oguchi is mentioned in this article as one of the top choices to play on the Nigerian National Team, in the upcoming African Championships (Afrobasket)
