Osiris working out for the Blazers

If Osiris can establish himself and hold his own against Green and Ellington he just may have a chance to get drafted. I would think this will be the definitive test to determine if he stays in the draft (of course he could just be trying out for team waterboy  )

I still would not be surprised to see OE get drafted. He is a natural scorer and who knows maybe he can play D if he has to. This whole undersized statements is blown out of proportion. Speed is a commodity you cannot teach but need at the NBA level. Guess what? OE has it.

I would be shocked beyond shocked if he ever got drafted ever. His game is a dime a dozen and a guy like him can be had as a free agent versus drafting him at any time.

Id rather draft some project in Europe and hide him over there then take a flyer on a guy like OE.

He is a decent player at ISU but put him in the world of pro athletes and bigger, stronger, more athletic players and his game is perfect for where he is at right now ISU. Go back there.

OE is one of the best players in the Valley, with the potential of being a POY candidate. So, what does that say about our guys?

Braves4Life I see you are back to Sasha. She is making a come back!:D

It says that very few if any players within the Missouri Valley are NBA level talent. Doesnt mean they are not any good just means they are not generally good enough to get drafted, let alone play in the NBA.

Hmmmmmmm. No mention of King "O". Guess he wasn't that impressive.

Here's an article with feedback from Blazers director of college scouting:

http://trailblazerscentercourt.blogspot.com/2009/06/buchanan-pre-draft-quotes-june-9.html

"I thought he was obviously very gifted athletically. He can run, he can jump, he’s got great speed. He’s kind of a powerful little two guard. He’s a little undersized, a little streaky shooting the ball today, which is kind of reflective of what he did during the season as well. But he’s got NBA athletic tools.

"I’d expect him to go back to school. He put himself on the radar this year a little bit and I think he’ll be seen quite a bit next year."

Sounds about right to me.

That report about OE is spot on. I feel that he does have NBA talent. There is only one other player right not in MVC that I feel can make it to the next level and that is AW. I believe AW has a bigger upside then OE and if fully recovered he will give OE a run for his money for the POY. There are a few other players but they are a bit young to see how consistent they are and if they have the mental preparation to get there.

On another note the off-season workouts to become an NBA player is very important IMO. Blake Griffen became the dominant player because he worked his tale off to get there. OE and AW can get to the NBA I believe if they are disaplined enough to make the sacrafices needed to get there. That means preparing the body and mind to play hard every minute on the court and to never take a play off. Both players have holes in their game and will need to make up for it by pure determination.

Not sure the NBA is real big on guys who will end up spending 5 years in college, and have either broken or had issues with their feet for a portion(s) of their college career. I like AW and think he is very talented but he has proven to be very injury prone and he has missed an entire basketball season. I think the jury is way out on if he has any NBA chances.

And if OE has NBA talent then why dont we just say that P'Allen Stinnet has NBA talent. I mean he is athletic, can jump and has a streaky shot is under sized and has NBA athletic tools. Heck for that matter Roberts should be given NBA consideration he is not that different from either Stinnet or OE.

Fact of the matter there is not anyone right now in the MVC who will or is good enough to play or even dress in the NBA. There are other guys playing basketball who are equally talented athletically but are better basketball players.

Houston we are just going to have to disagree on this one. I believe AW has the talent and one injury does not make you injury prone. I am concerned though but I'll be optimistic about his foot healing completely. AW's game is a lot like AP's and he still has 2 years to prove he can make it. If AW prepares himself both physically and mentally, IMHO he has the talent to take it to the next level.

In all honesty I really do not care what happens to OE and I would love it if he stayed in the draft.

I guess that broken bone he had in his hand / finger to finish out the 2008 season doesn't count. 8)

If you ever played ball you would know that breaking a finger or jamming the hell out of it is common occurrence, so I still say no. I guess what I'm getting to is that he has not torn up his knee or has done any real structural damage to his body. In short once the broken foot issue is resolved then I believe he has the talent to contend for POY honors in the Valley. I believe OE will also contend and anyone who is in that position has a chance to be noticed by NBA scouts. There are some on this board who feel regardless that these guys are not NBA material. I expect if the Valley is to be one of the better conferences that it should be able to produce 1 or 2 NBA players a year, otherwise we are a mid-major conference with average talent.

Yes we will agree to disagree on this one :)

But I am very concerned about Warren and I am concerned directly with his feet. This injury has lingered for nearly 9 months with what 3 separate surgeries. There has been info that he might have broken this bone before in High School. It might just be an issue that simply never goes away.

I think he has great talent but he has sat an entire year of basketball and I just do not beleive you pick it right back up where you left it after a year of little activity.

Ditto! I completely agree with your concern over AW and will remain a cautious skeptic until his return to MVC league play.

Isn't their some big riot going on in Nigeria right now? Wonder how it is in Oguchi's land.
