Postgame- BU 56 ISU 52

Also after the way the game started I would have never thought the game would have been in the 50's.....

Oh what a night.... Some ISU fans at work have been trash talking me for about a week... I have been laying low.. Now it is MY TURN!!!;-):twisted::twisted:

a couple of things

DC had a great game for him... I have bashed his play all year, but if I criticize a player as much as I have with DC, I have to lead off here with props to him... Keep it up DC... Also props to TW for having "the talk" with DC... That's senior leadership fellas...:)

Taylor Brown---sixth man extraordinaire- imo TB probably had the defensive play of the game...:-o

EM--looking forward to three more years of EM "killin em on the floor."

Sam Singh---what's there to say... Quite simply, Sam Singh is what Bradley Basketball is all about...

Great game from the coaching staff....

One last thought that I havent seen on this thread... This may be just me, but I was not impressed with ISU's defense last night....

As I always tell my players....the next game is the most important game of the year, why?....because it is the next game!

Congratulations to BU on a great win.

Now lets quit celebrating because we have CU coming in fresh off back to back conference losses and we need another game just like last night along w/ the fans.

CU will be ready and when was the last time CU lost 3 conference games in a row and for whatever reason they always come prepared for BU.

I just hope we have as big of a crown and we play w/ the same intensity and don't take them for granted just because ISU blew them out because if we do we will get it handed to us.

The student section was just fantastic last night and it was nice to finally see the crown on their feet the last 3 minutes.

I agree with every word you wrote beninator! Excellent assessment of the players and the game :)

I'm not ready to trash talk yet...there's a long way to go, and we have no room for even one more injury or "issue" like what sidetracked us last year.
Imagine how this team might have done last year without those issues?

Oh come on tornado. We all know last year was Les' fault ;)

I agree to some extent. I think Oguchi would have helped alot in that regard and he will be a ton when we are at RA. Also the 1-3-1 really slowed us down, I expect to see more of that come Jan 31. We have to get SamM, Dodie, CRob, and even Norris going from behind the arc or we could be in trouble that game.

I agree that their man2man was not that good but when they into zone it gave us fits. I thought for one that SM could have taken a few shots from the top of the key or try to penetrate and dish it out to an open man. We seem to just look for the pass around the zone and not for a shot. I'd like JL to practice the art of attacking the zone. We will see more zone as the season goes until we either start hitting the 3 from the corner or attack it with success.

Great minds think alike!

Understand fully T....It's all in fun, but all I heard all week was how isu was going to beat us by 10 points... Just need to knock them down a peg or two from their perch after our win.8)

I was...when Janks went Zone we had a problem....SOME of that MIGHT have been the difficulty many teams have playing with a lead.

They held US to 56 points. Thats impressive....

Anyone think they will zone the heck out of us AT ISU?

ISU never seems to show the enthusiasm the BU players had.
They seemed to be thinking they had the talent to win and that's all that mattered, and that they could turn it on at any time.

How many times did the ISU guy who brought the ball across half court, simply dribble a few times, maybe drive a bit, then put up the shot without ever once looking to pass?

I don't think it was lack of enthusiasm as much as maybe some intimidation from the crowd. They were classy in saying just that thing in the paper. I think that and we ahve to give BU credit for plain ole good defense.

I would say they were shell shocked earlier in the game....made some good late game adjustments but by then we had a good lead AND NEVER quit playing defense.

NO...I will celebrate until the tip off Saturady nite.:) I can turn it on and off like THAT. I'll be ready the moment the ball goes up for the opening tip.

Jacking 3's is not the way to beat the zone. As we have shown we aren't real good at that. We need to look for the soft spots a zone gives you...try to get it down low AND drive and get fouled.

As much as I enjoy isu losing... If they continue winning, we can put this in the "quality win" column, can't we? (with the disclaimer that this statement is making wild assumptions about our continued conference success, please do not blast me for my ignorantly far looking optimism)

I agree with you Benni:!: Great stuff here from you, as always.
No compliment for a player could match the one you gave here to Sam Singh.
All Sam has been through, I could not agree more:!: Hope everyone got to listen to Sam on the radio post game show last night. He speaks very well and talks very positive about all his teammates, coach's and very little about himself, other than to say how much he hates the mask.
Total Team Player:!::biggrin:

It'd be nice to have a 6'9" skilled player to attack that zone next time wouldn't it.;)

This team has found it's niche methinks.

At the start of the season I felt like everyone was out of possition and there was no gel amongst the players. The gel is officially there

great game, SS and DC came through HUGE!!!

Taylor Brown's block was the top defensive play of the game

DN's clutch three off the bench from the corner was huuuuge (not bad for a freshman)

The DC and SS combo worked well...i hope they can keep it up.

and whoever talked about DC and TW getting bunk beds...those need to be some pretty big bunk beds :D
