Postgame BU 77 Drake 75- 2 OTs

Lets just be glad that we won this and we didn't have video evidence that we should have...

Can you imagine the hysteria that would have occurred? We won. Let's just enjoy it -- we dont need the style-points-ending! :)

Just trying to understand the ruling that was made on a seemingly important play at the time.

Also, the second year in a row ending the season on a 2OT thriller in a meaningless game. But last year was ridiculously high scoring. At least we won this year, just for the momentum effect.

Didn't we have one of these wild OT games with Drake at Carver during the Mo era? Can't recall exactly but it seemed a little deja vu.

TW no doubt touched the ball...the reason why the probably called it was because maybe some of the ball was already inside the hoop....that'd be goal-tending. I don't think the refs thought he didn't touch it...I think it was just already going in and therefore an illegal inbounds pass.

Good ending...makes you feel happy...but need to play much better in St. Louis...that was a play in team, on our home court, on senior night afterall

let's get this done BU

As I said earlier in the thread, it was either goaltending on an illegal inbound play. Since no time was elapsed off the clock, it had to be called an illegal inbound. Had they started the clock, same result would have occured, just called a goaltending.

I think it was '94--Parker's freshman year. He made two free throws to tie the game near the end of regulation, then BU was down four with about 20 seconds left in OT. Zobrist hit a 3, Drake split two free throws and then Parker hit two free throws to tie again. Bulldogs nearly won with shot from just inside half court (can't remember if that was at end of regulation or 1st OT) then BU won (93-91?) in second OT.

That Drake fan was a piece of work. I think he was from the large contingent of Bucky Cox family members. Other than that act, they were nice folk.

Thanks to the security guy who stopped him the 4th time he tried to do it and told him to "go back to your seat and sit down".

They were all a piece of work. Bucky's sister and her boyfriend were unnecessarily antagonistic... At one point the boyfriend stared straight at me and said "I'm going to shut you up." For a private school, the Cox contingent really display a lack of class and reflect poorly on Drake. Except his mom. She's a nice woman.

About the game though... I'm glad we have the momentum from a dramatic win, but I wish the entire first half could be erased from my memory.. I wasn't happy with how we played on either end of the court ... Our second half was comparatively superior, and very little (except a squad full of 6'3/6'4 guards) could have stopped Young's aerial attack. I was happy to see solid defense (especially getting around screens) in the late second half and overtime periods. And I was happy with the guts we showed at the line and in taking big shots.. I'm thinking of Sam big and small and Chris Roberts, in particular.

I feel DU did the same thing during the final 7 minutes that we did during the final 5 minutes vs UNI. They played to not lose. The pass, pass, dribble around, pass, pass, take desperation 3 as shot clock expired was deju vu.
